So what you are telling me Buck, is that Michael Kay is some sort of weirdo? “Kay and Mad Dog are experts on the New York sports experience. Kay, I happen to know, can recite the entire screenplay from “The Pride of the Yankees,” this from watching the classic Lou Gehrig biopic hundreds of times growing up the Bronx.”
Kay was born in 1961. VCRs started becoming widely available in the mid-70s. It’s conceivable the Kay family could have had one and a copy of the movie. Or maybe some theater in the Bronx just showed it regularly. Still, it doesn’t seem like a movie that would lend itself to a lot of quotes that you can use in social settings. You could probably make something out of the quotes on the IMDB page (link), but seriously. Michael Kay, see some different movies.
