Which one of you Vegas experts wants to debunk this horseshit?

“The most tedious man in the world.”

Stay thirsty for a foamy choclatelty latte my friend.

He’s done everything he can, and more, but King is almost a publicity-shy font of genuine insights next to our own resident football expert, Ed Harding.

That’s right. Evidence #1: WCVB, the Peabody Award-winning station that’s supposedly the apex of US local television news spent its entire first segment on Friday “covering” Ed Harding’s arrival of Atlanta’s airport and subsequent challenges at the baggage claim carousel. Twelve excruciating minutes of the newly grey-templed Imp promising the best coverage of the Patriots and the Super Bowl.  Led by a guy who couldn’t be a fill-in on the Anchorman team. Pul-eze!

You know it’s the Super Bowl when the Globe has the spotlight article ready for the Pats.

I assume that by Thursday or Friday, (1.) some member of the Globe’s phalanx of SuperStar Sportswriters (R) will have uncovered the nefarious and duplicitous ways in which BB has sown unsportsmanlike confusion in beleaguered opposition by illegally having identical twins on the field at the same time. (2.) Shank will have filed three “thinking big” columns that will not contain a single quote presented only to him and will mostly refer to events that took place 25 years ago (3.) Saturday will feature a huge wrap-around “Super Bowl Special” section and former football writer Nick Cafardo will complain about the slow pace of signing free agents.

And IIRC Harding was the guy humiliated by Parcells back at that post-game presser in 1996 when he asked that question about whether Parcells “out-coached” Rich Kotite. Tried to but couldn’t find a clip of that audio — I think WEEI used to play it — but it was priceless.

I think Lynchie pulled a Bertie last night.

Told a story about how his room was right next to BB’s during the Rams week in New Orleans.

Said when he left his room on Wednesday – Brady was in hallway waiting to go in and see BB about who was starting vs Rams.

Drew pops out of the room and Tom goes in.

Mike says Drew was pissed he wasn’t getting the start.

Never heard that one before – not saying it didn’t happen but why sit on it for 17 years?

Up next on Chronicle, Ted Reinstein visits a Belly Button lint factory near Mt Greylock.

More concerning: the purple throwing arm or the missing bit of finger on the other hand? Or the arrow not being broken?

Its 63.7% since 2014. Just ahead of Minnesota at 63.4% over that same time.

You’re either saying that the Vikings (and Packers, who second at 57.8% ATS since 2007) are also cheating or that the .3% difference between MN and NE is 7 standard deviations from the norm, which proves that only the Patriots cheating.

Picked the kids up today, oldest kid is pissed.  Says these kids at school were talking about that Kentucky science fair winner, had no interest in competing in his school’s science fair but now wants to so he can disprove that kid.  He’s fired up.

As far as I’m concerned Nick was first in declaring the Patriots’ run of successful teams over.   Believe that was in 2005 or 2006.

Nick might have declared as early as the day they traded Bledsoe to Buffalo in the spring of 2002, and he definitely did a year later when Milloy was cut and signed with the Bills.

If only the other former players from that team would just say this about the bullshit tapes, stolen signs, whatever:

It never happened. Period. Point blank. We never had any secret information or changed any calls based on something we saw from someone else’s practice. We had a year of tape, and piles of tendencies, and lots of game evidence from other teams on approaches that didn’t work. We had a gameplan not unlike many of the others we used that year, this time with the added emphasis of disrupting every possible eligible receiver every second we could. And that’s it.

No new exotic coverages. No new exotic calls. No new exotic checks. Nothing.

Who gave TBH the name “Mittens”? I heard Zolak call him that yesterday in front of Shank and got a chuckle.

Was it Pats67?  I remember him using it describing the media or someone in the media as being prone to freeze to death if you didn’t tie their mittens to their jacket.  Or some such.  Also he might have had some photo where he looked particularly dumb wearing mittens.

    Yes it was:

Bruce, on 22 Sept 2010 – 11:30 AM, said: It’s just not a football culture here. We’re all about the Red Sox. Patriots fans are like the nouveau riche. If you didn’t recognize it, that was Shaughnessy’s column today, reduced to three sentences.

Scott@PD, on 22 Sept 2010 – 11:35 AM, said: Krusty can go @!&% himself too. He’s been lecturing the sports fans of this region for 30 years and what has resulted but a pile of Joe Gills 10 miles wide and 20 miles deep. You have to pin their @!&%ing mittens to their jackets and walk them to the bus because they’re not capable of looking at that field and understanding any of it on their own. You got to boil it down to a catchphrase for them or they end up mittenless and dead in a snowbank. So Krusty ought to look at the fruits of his life labor and maybe have a steaming hot plate of shut the @!&% up for once in his life.

Nothing will be saved. All will be lost. And our new onion-headed sad emoticon is unable to convey the depth of that loss. -10/22/25 (sic) Daily Thread
