    Tired and disappointed but hopeful.

I wouldn’t get near Craig and Larry with a hazmat suit this morning.

I’m not sure why Cora doesn’t just forfeit the rest of the series. Ken Rosenthal said last night that, if the Red Sox lost, the team is in shambles and should basically disband as a franchise.

Poor Nathan Eovaldi with one of the most undeserving losses in World Series history.

So does anyone know why the field was so fucked up? Oakland Aladmeda County Coliseum (or whatever it’s called now) quality. Do they play soccer there or have some kind of rock concert?

Right before the Kinsler play they showed an iso of Holt in left field, he had as many divots around him as firm grass.

Somebody mentioned Kinsler sliding at home…the play was pretty far up the line; he probably would have stopped short of home and had to crawl/dive to touch the plate. But he sure had a better chance of being safe than what he did.

We noticed that last night. The grass appears cut real short like a putting green. It seems like a different type than we usually see the Sox play on.

Kudos to whoever mentioned Nunez and Ihedigbo in the same post last night!

If we define the strike zone as anything touching any part of the zone:

    Boston pitchers vs RHH:

6 strikes called balls, 0 balls called strikes

    Boston pitchers vs LHH:

5 strikes called balls, 1 ball called a strike

    LA pitchers vs RHH:

0 strikes called balls, 5 balls called strikes

    LA pitchers vs LHH:

3 strikes called balls,  1 ball called a strike

That’s a net +13 calls benefiting LA. I’ve never seen anything that bad. Yeah, the Red Sox had their chances but I don’t think basic competence is too much to ask for from the umps.

    I dropped after the 15rh.

Ball/strike calls were maddening.  Betts got called looking 3 times not sure if he got up another time.

Had a feeling not pushing an insurance run over in the 13th would haunt them.

Oh well, back at it still leading 2-1

Media wrote off the Astros after Game 6 last year when they failed to win with Verlander.  They only threw a shutout in Game 7.  All of this Red Sox are fucked talk is preposterous.  These are the same media hardos that get off on shit like you have all offseason to rest.  Now the narrative is they are all dainties?  One thing they never contemplate is resilience.

I’d settle for that goddamn swing Muncy took being a strike.

Of course there is a website devoted to baseball park grass surfaces….    que the horns

Dodger Stadium – Tifway 419 bermudagrass overseeded with perennial ryegrass
Grown by West Coast Turf in Palm Desert, CA, where a Bermuda hybrid is overseeded with rye, which is better tolerant to the normally cool temperatures at the beginning of the season. By the summer months the more heat-tolerant Bermuda grass supplants the ryegrass.

    Fenway Park – Kentucky bluegrass
The oldest ballpark in baseball gets its grass from New Jersey, and specifically Tuckahoe Turf Farms.

PS- lots of parks are Kentucky bluegrass

What trades and free agent pick ups should the Red Sox make in the off season?

They had 7 hits and scored 2 runs in 18 innings. Let’s not make it more complicated than that.

Betts, Benintendi, Martinez, Bogie and Devers had no hits!

This is the same media who had them dead and buried after splitting at home in both the ALDS and ALCS right?

    Exhausting, historic game last night.

Potentially painful lack of pitching (and maybe Nunez? He took a beating last night) already forming drama around tonight’s game.

Sox up 2-1: Strategies for Game 5 and 6?

Nick: Dave Roberts has his option year next year. He’ll be free to manage elsewhere in 2020! The Dodgers better re-sign him NOW!

    Cafardo. So damn predictable.

Who is completely unavailable? Eovaldi and Porcello? I presume Nunez will pinch hit?

I’d want Benintendi and Pearce in just for them being rested.

Eovaldi told Cora he’s available tonight if Cora wants to use him.  “Your agent is going to kill me” is what he said in response according to last night’s thread.

Other than needing an angle for their hot takes, I really don’t understand the theory that using Eovaldi was a gamble. It was an 18 inning game. If they don’t use him, how do they get through it?
