Pats tonight of course, but reading over last night’s coverage of the NYY-A’s, I was struck by this quote in Cafardo’s re- re- re- re-tread blather “you know you want it” in today’s Globe.

Is it me, or does Boone come off like a bad JR Tunis parody?

“With Cutch [Andrew McCutchen] leading off, getting on base. And then Judgey [Aaron Judge] with a big swing [a first-inning home run] and Sevey [starter Luis Severino] doing what he did, we just built some steam from there,” Boone said. “Even though he couldn’t get deep, he was good when he was in there. And then you see the bullpen coming in and being as effective as they were.”

Which happens first: board’s next 1000 threads or BSJ’s next 1000 subscribers?

I don’t know who JR Tunis is, but he sounds like a dope.

Maybe Tito sounded the same way, but I’ll leverage this as more reasons to hate the Yankees.

Probably just Boone’s way of still relating to players, he was probably Boone-ie in the clubhouse.  Grew up with his dad playing baseball so you call everyone by either a shortened version of their name and/or add an er/ey suffix.  Either way it sounds terrible.

Judgey is awful.  That’s a case where you’d probably just refer to him by his first name.  Aaron.  Nothing wrong with that.  I remember the Avalanche players used to refer to Adam Deadmarsh as “Deader.”  Sounded even worse when weirdo fans and media would then use it as well in their like equals attempt.  Why not just call him Adam?  Sounds a gazillion times better than Deader.

Aaron, AJ, something other than Judgey.

Good article on si.com about the Cardinals hacker guy.  Didn’t know he was from Lowell.

Just shows how bad T&R are. If they talked a little more sports and less Ray Lewis impersonations the would kill them.

I don’t even think of listening to them. I think Kim and VB are the most listenable talk show on at that time of the day.

I listen to Bloomberg Radio. The (presumably) fat guy and the Brit are a good pair.

On the days I drive my daughter to daycare, I listen to “Shake it off” on a loop :weei:

If I hustle, and traffic isn’t bad, I can get her to daycare in 3.5 Shake(s)it Off(s)

Realized my knowledge of the Braves is limited to 3 players – Acuna, Albies, and Nick Friggin’ Markakis.  Some guy named Brian Snitker is the manager.

Freddie Freeman.  I know of Dansby Swanson but he’s hurt.  Old friend Anibal Sanchez.

That is such a horribly written whatever the fuck it’s supposed to be.  Punctuation, singular v plural.  And why shorten Patriots and Red Sox?  I really hate “Pats,” too hard to write or say Patriots?  Also too hard to put Red in front of Sox.  Lazy and shitty.  And who cares who’s been where, if the writer is good I don’t care if they just flew him/her in from Timbuktu.  Reminds me of 98.5 people relying on Gresh’s football expertise with “Gresh, you played the game…”

Just noticed including tonight 4 of the next 5 games are prime time games.  Two Sunday nighters against Chiefs and Packers and a Monday nighter against Buffalo.
