Took the liberty of making it one thread; business has been slow around here lately.

Does anyone want to continue with the trivia question from yesterday: who was the person who was in G1 (uncredited), Goodfellas and The Sopranos?

My guess (purely) was the Beansie guy…someone else said Phil Leotardo but it wasn’t him (although “Phil” is one, and perhaps the only one; to be in Casino, Goodfellas and The Sopranos).

Is there going to be a IAWL screening on 12/14? I’ve still yet to see it, you vets may benefit from a foul mouthed rookie trying to keep up

Hope so, Chico–and you’d be a blast to have along! I think you’ll enjoy IAWL. Timeless theme & like so many other classics, it gets even better on repeat viewings.

Geeze, I know it’s a slow Friday, but in the old days my Godfather/Goodfellas/Sopranos trivia question would have had a bunch of guesses by now or been solved.  :ozzy:

I’m racking my brain.   People that I know without confirming were in two of them- junior (1, sopranos) PW (goodfellas, sopranos) PL (same)

Ramsey sure is something. The national media really don’t think too heavily before hitching their wagons to some supposed superstar or another.

That guy is trash. Josh Norman did this first.

Yeah, a bunch of actors were in both–including guest spots like the Morrie actor playing a rabbi in The Sopranos, aren’t there like, almost 50 or something crossovers? David Chase loved Goodfellas for sure.

BTW, freely admit I learned the trivia as a fact and didn’t guess it myself.

His biggest role was in The Sopranos. He didn’t have a *ton* of screen time but more than enough for us to know him. He played a key character.

I actually just went to the length of making an IAWL notation in my calendar for next Friday.

I can’t wait for Chico and Violet to get to know each other.

The “ton” clue says Gannascoli or Schirripa but I don’t see either one in the Goodfellas cast.

I do know that Big Pussy was very, very briefly in Goodfellas but did he get in G1 too?

Can anyone come up with another movie besides The Talented Mr Ripley that had Rebhorn, Phil Bake Hall and Phil Sey Hoffman all in it? I cannot.

See, I’d consider both of those guys as having a pretty good amount of screen time–99% sure that this guy didn’t have as much as either one. I hope I’m not giving shitty clues (don’t think I am).

Big Pussy wasn’t in G1, to my knowledge anyhow.

No Zip, but outstanding guess! Man, if only he’d appeared in The Sopranos, he’d have had the incredible honor and bragging rights of having appeared in that show, GF, AND 1 & 2!!

My favorite Carmine scene is when Johnny Sac wants Ralph killed over the joke Ralph made regarding Ginny’s large ass/mole.

    Carmine: “What did he say?”

JS: “I have to repeat it? My word’s not good enough?”

Carmine (slightly exasperated): “Not if you want him clipped over it!”

In keeping with Tony Lip/Frankie The Wop/Carmine Sr. Friday, I think I learned this trivia when reading about the new movie Green Book, which his RL son wrote & which features Viggo Mortensen as Tony Lip himself!

I had no idea the guy had such an interesting life.

Always found it interesting also that Carmine was one of the few in the Soprano world who lived a good long life as a gangster and died an old man of natural causes. Though his golf course death scene involving the egg salad grosses me out more than any of the bloody or violent ones.

No “Bookman” in that one. Was PSH ever in Seinfeld? The other two were, not in the same episodes, however.

I found this interesting. Kevin Durant on the media fanboy attention warp of Lebron:

“So much hype comes from being around LeBron from other people,” Durant said. “He has so many fanboys in the media. Even the beat writers just fawn over him. I’m like, we’re playing basketball here, and it’s not even about basketball at certain points. So I get why anyone wouldn’t want to be in that environment because it’s toxic. Especially when the attention is bullshit attention, fluff. It’s not LeBron’s fault at all; it’s just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word. Just get out of the way and let us play basketball.”
