I’m glad Kobe Bryant won an Oscar! He was totally robbed in 2003 for his performance as “Totally Innocent Non-Rapist” in Not Guilty, Your Honor.

    Roethlisberger, you’re on the clock.

Big Ben is workshopping a reboot to the Speed franchise, in which the star — a beefy, crewcut ex-quarterback-turned-cop with a troubled past — tries to throw as many teammates and coaches under a speeding bus before it explodes, or he announces his retirement, whichever comes first.

Ben may have to give Peyton a writing credit, or risk a visit from Archie’s goons.

Re: last week’s discussion anout BSWM speech seeping into the household- hasn’t really happened to me, but one of the technical Oscar winners last night thanked Ted Sarandis  , and I reflexively gave that a “I apologize 1000 times for anyone I forgot” and start giggling like a child.  I took my wife’s disinterest as approval not to explain myself

Had no interest in the Oscars, so had the radio on while on the computer. ESPN radio had some NBA show (high quality, can’t even find a description to get a name), the chick that was cohosting was just a little excited about this. I wanted to say that if she met Kobe, there’d be no chance of rape but I actually would be afraid for his safety.

Netflix Season 2: Muz and JF

    From Here to Patsternity
    S2E1
Reunited and assigned to the FBI’s Boston Field Office, Muz and JF travel to Hollywood to investigate the death of a direct-to-streaming starlet who had just given birth to a baby alleged to be that of the local football team’s owner.

    #Me,Toots?
    S2E2
While in Los Angeles, Muz becomes romantically involved with a whistleblower in the Me Too movement – until she accuses him of rape.

    On His Reality Secret Service
    S2E3
After being unceremoniously fired from the FBI despite being cleared of rape charges, Muz gets an acting job – as one of the “secret service agents” on ex-President Trump’s new show “After Apprentice.”

    Kennedy and Hiney
    s2E4
JF investigates an early morning car crash involving former State Rep Patrick Kennedy and auto maven Ernie Boch in the scenic I-495 corridor – the cause of which is more than a little rear ending.

    Live Free or Dice
    S2E5
After his TV show is cancelled, Muz returns to New England and rents a house at Hampton Beach. His plan to relax is thwarted when Andrew Dice Clay’s body washes up on shore after a show at the casino, and Muz is hired to find out who did it – HE NEEDED DA MONEY — AGOOOOSH.

    Twenty Six Point Tumor
    S2E6
Muz and JF suspect that a Marathon charity for cancer research isn’t on the level and Muz goes undercover on the team to investigate. But he must face his greatest enemy yet – the half-mile incline approaching Boston College that caused his heart to attack itself forty years ago.

    Lyr-Eck Little Bangbox
    S2E7
Running concurrently with episode 6, JF races against time to track down a suicide bomber at the Patriots Day Game. What he doesn’t know is that the suspect is a former Red Sox pitcher and beloved media personality.

    Million Challah Bubalah
    S2E8
After losing his legs and being burned over 90% of his body, JF begs Muz to help him die. Muz is torn between putting his old friend out of his misery and grabbing him by the collar and telling him “eh what’s a matta witchoo?”

Who gets the award for the most horseshit jersey name in the NBA?

    You can vote amongst:

    The Town/The Bay*

    The Land

    The District

    Buzz City

    Rip City

..any and all “Los” followed by the nickname.

    * The SF Warriors “The City” was kind of neat…can’t believe that they would rip it off for the same franchise; and TWICE, for Christ’s sake.

I wonder if “The Hub” shirts are on deck, or hopefully already nixed?

Nice job ITT. Some good callbacks in there.

Really enjoyed watching Philly come out blazing hot/talking a bunch only to fizzle out and lose last night.

You couldn’t pay me to watch the Kobe short but was it good?

I enjoyed watching the Bruins and Celtics last week so maybe the Soupey Depression of ‘18 is lifting a bit.

Just in time for Mcavoy and Kyrie injuries!

Don’t worry, there are always people like Mazz and Shank around to keep things miserable.

Took them 5 minutes to piss on everything. Nothing is ever good.

I wasn’t pissed that the C’s lost, because it was a pretty even game against a great team, but Al lying on the ground and rolling it to Houston made me have 11 heart attacks.

that was only one of two plays I threw my hands up at. The first was Morris leaving Gordon, after he hit 500 threes already, to do a half ass double on Ariza who was driving with his off hand against Jaylen.  The Rockets aren’t very subtle, it’s clear that if anyone is standing beyond the arc and has a CH of daylight it’s going up.  Let Ariza dribble drive into single coverage as much as he’d like

A few observations from our sports radio leaders…

Every call to F&M is as miserable as they are. Some boob even said Stevens sucks and cost them the game on Sat

All of the listeners are either fat, on drugs or are getting divorced. This explains the callers.

The Athletic just raised $20m and plans to expand to Boston.

Their Chicago site has 25k subscribers.

Coach Craig still hasn’t hit 8k yet. Such a shame…

I subscribed for Mandel and the college football articles. Hockey stuff has been pretty good too.

Does The Athletic offer to buy up BSJ so that they have a built in  subscriber base in the region? If they do that, do they need Almost-A-Coach? Or does The Athletic say, “We’re our own brand,” poach some talent from BSJ and leave Bedard wondering how he’s going to pay the bills?

It would be nice if The Athletic bought out Coach Craig, told him to take a walk and then saw their subscription numbers quickly go over 10k. The problem wasn’t the price, the concept or the fans, Craig, it was you.

I’m not a subscriber but I’d suspect his contracts with subscribers don’t allow him to just transfer the membership to another entity. The Athletic has their own look and feel and template so I’m not sure it would port over. That said they could try to buy him out so they have less competition. Can’t be worth much, though.
