I hope Dugger ends up being a combination of Ed Reed and Ronnie Lott, not just because it will help the Patriots on the field but it will also shut up these yammering ninnies when they cry about trading down and 2nd round defensive backs.April 24, 2020 at 10:52 pm #147215Big Fat OParticipant

I hope BILA enjoyed Roger pimping the new stadium.
The demand is there because Roger said it was.
I honestly don’t think anyone here even knows the draft is happening. Big big fans. It’s still full speed ahead to get the stadium ready. Virus deaths and illnesses there “not a big deal”.April 25, 2020 at 1:18 pm #147223Canadian SoldierParticipantApril 25, 2020 at 4:34 pm #147224Miserable FellowParticipant
Why do I love seeing how mad Pats Fanz get at Belichick’s drafting so much? Small college 2nd round safety, drafting a totally unknown kicker, totally ignoring the “deepest receiver class in history”. He’s playing all the classics!April 25, 2020 at 9:31 pm #147227GusChigginsParticipant
I hate headlines like this. I’m not confused They have three quarterbacks on the roster and no kicker. It makes perfect sense actually

The final net of the Garoppolo trade:
- 2018 2nd (63)
- 2019 3rd (97*)
- 2019 3rd (101*)
- 2019 6th (205*)
- 2020 4th (129)
- 2021 6th
in exchange for:
- 2018 2nd (56, Dawson**)
- 2018 7th (178, Sam)
- 2019 2nd (45, Williams)
- 2019 3rd (87, Harris)
- 2019 3rd (101, Cajuste)
- 2019 4th (133, Stidham)
- 2020 3rd (101, Keene)
* 97, 101 and 205 were all 2019 compensation picks, for Solder, Butler and Amendola respectively.
** Dawson and a 2020 7th (#237) were traded to Denver for a 2020 sixth-round pick (#105, Justin Herron)
They’ll be debating the merits of this forever. Trading away Dawson made it look bad, but if Stidham’s for real, it sways it the other way. The defenders will leave out the six other picks the Pats included in the swaps, and the attackers will continue to say Belichick kept making trades to hide the true return. It’ll go on forever, because both sides have lots of leeway for interpretation.
For argument’s sake, here are the players taken at the spots of the picks they traded:

- 43 – Kerryon Johnson
- 63 – Carlton Davis
- 97 – Bobby Evans
- 101 – Cajuste (they traded this out, then reacquired it)
- 205 – Duke Shelley
- 129 – Cameron Clark
