April 12, 2017 at 9:27 am #96804April 12, 2017 at 9:35 am #96807“In 1812 an intrepid band of patriotic Americans decided they’d had enough with the imperious and imperial British enemy encamped to their north in a land called ‘Canada.’ So they threw down the gauntlet yet again, three decades after they punched John Bull in the snoot, and battled the bloody Brits on the Great Lakes, in Detroit, in what we now call Ontario, in upstate New York, at Fort McHenry, and — of course — in New Orleans. Sure, we came out of it with a little collateral damage — Washington, D.C., was just a frontier town and didn’t mind being mussed up a little bit by the King’s Hussars — but we prevailed!
“And now, over two centuries after those hostilities, the Bruins carry the torch and GO TO WAR WITH OTTA-WAH!”

February 5th wear off already?
That’s the thing, I’m just chasing the dragon over here. I can’t get it up for a regular season game anymore.
April 12, 2017 at 10:27 am #96823Good Gerry Callahan today: “Why are we talking about Spicer’s gaffe when there is possible war with Syria and North Korea on the horizon? So anyway, how many painkillers was that doctor from the United plane hopped up on?”
The video of him getting back on the plane running down the aisle “I have to get home! I have to get home” or something similar is hysterical.

April 12, 2017 at 10:49 am #96827Both of those “Hockey Night in Canada” intro’s are light years ahead of anything seen before an NFL game in at least 15 years. It’s like the networks don’t even try. Instead they want viewers to get excited about some lame Sunday night football intro stuffed with a Gigantic Verizon Billboard and multiple references to the announcers in the booth. 🙁

Found myself watching Nuggets and Avalanche games post February 5 like I was looking for busy work.
April 12, 2017 at 10:56 am #96829Given that Fatty is covering Romo replacing Nantz with more urgency than he would Johnson being sworn in after JFK was shot, the networks (and their stooges) think we really give a fuck about who is in the booth
wishful thinking- Simms.

Has there been a good sports into made for American television in…I dunno? Twenty years? The last one I can remember that even made it move a little was Bulls-Jazz with the overture from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and even that involved fucking Costas.
April 12, 2017 at 11:09 am #96834None of the stories about the passing of J Geils mentions the song ‘piss on the wall’. It’s easily the bands best song.
Breer’s favorite song.
Wait, what?

Jules Edelman should make them all.
April 12, 2017 at 11:12 am #96836April 12, 2017 at 11:13 am #96837The closing montage to the 2013 playoffs with Gimme Shelter is pretty good.
I don’t want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me. Years ago we had the Garden. That was only a way of saying – we had each other. The Big Bad Bruins were real head breakers, true goons. They took over their piece of the Original Six. Twenty years after an American couldn’t get a fucking shift, we had Lord Stanley’s Cup. May he rest in peace. That’s what Les Habitants don’t realize. If I got one thing against the frog chappies, it’s this – no one gives it to you. You have to take it.

Loved Pete saying enough with the triple-double talk while churning out dailies about Romo. I tell you what to care about and when to care about it. Heard some others of his ilk talking about the overdone triple-double talk. Of course these are the guys who whenever anyone has said so and so is a great player the first retort was Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double over an entire season! Top that!

Heading to Fenway tonight wearing my Bs jacket.

Usually he prefaces any of his NBA nuggets with the entirely accurate disclaimer that he knows Jackson F. Shit about basketball, but curiously not this one

April 12, 2017 at 11:33 am #96848Was looking at Wolf’s wiki to confirm he was a DJ at WBCN and saw this
Wolf was married to actress Faye Dunaway from 1974 to 1979.
Did not know that.
Yeah, I’d forgotten that. Cute couple.

Did someone say “Magic Dick”? Sign me up to a fare thee well!

April 12, 2017 at 11:43 am #96850Despite it’s ubiquity, “Centerfold” always resonated with me and mine since someone from the neighborhood, uh, did that (google Aimee Sweet at your own risk
)
My little hamlet in NH has similar scenario…Google Sunni Mayweather at your own risk. She went to high school with one of my kids and her Dad was president of the local Pop Warner league one year that I coached.
April 12, 2017 at 11:48 am #96851More proof that I know nothing: I totally expected “soft-tossing lefty” Drew Pomeranz to get lit up by the powerful right-handed bats of the Orioles.
Bring the Bs, Cs and Red Sox luck tonight, Suzy! 🙂

Does Simmons drink to excess on a regular basis? Then perhaps.
Dino’s not looking well at all.
