I love people praising Tomlin and the Steelers retroactively for how they handled Brown.  They don’t get that the main reason he’s acting all incredulous about the fines is because the Steelers let him do whatever he wanted so he doesn’t understand when he gets sanctioned.

Harbro missed losing to Army at home by about 2 feet in a FG attempt.

On to OT so could still happen.

According to Schefter, Pats signed Brown.

Schefter-Antonio Brown and the Patriots reached agreement on a 1 year deal worth up to $15mil that includes a $9mil signing bonus.

    1st reaction-stunned silence

2nd reaction-loading up for one more ring for TB12.  Makes sense.

Wow. Gobsmacked.  Rosenhaus must have had BB on speed dial.

There has to be language in the contract to the effect that if AB so much as sneezes without covering nose, BB can legally murder him.

Should the act of disrupting your team enough to get released be known as “An Antonio Brown”, “A LeGarrette Blount”, or “The Underground Railroad to Freedom”?

The Patriots are once again the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl in February 2020, as New England jumped past the Chiefs after signing wide receiver Antonio Brown to a one-year contract on Saturday.

New England was previously at +650 to win the Super Bowl prior to Saturday’s signing at William Hill. The Patriots are now at +450, while the Chiefs enter Week 1 at +600.

We will watch the game tomorrow night and hopefully witness a comfortable win due to the great looking defense, multiheaded rushing attack, and improved weapons in Gordon, Thomas, Meyers, and Olshewski while banner #6 is being raised.

And then we’ll remember Antonio Brown will be added next week.

And Ben Watson in week 5.

And N’Keal Harry in week 9.

    It’s surreal.

I can’t believe he got such a big bonus. You would expect lots of incentives and an easy cut contract.

BB does have relationships with some of these players that are very low key and not well know. This could be another Randy Moss where Brown maybe have seen the light in the past 24 hrs.

    Lets hope this works out.

Has Shirley Leung or Joan Venocchi or Shank or one of those other hacks weighed in to finger wag?

Maybe Martellus will unretire too and join his brother.

If curses and fairness bowls are legitimate sports topics, then I think it’s reasonable to believe that the Raiders (players, coaches, front office people, fans, etc) whining about the Tuck Rule for 17 straight years* contributed to Antonio Brown being a massive distraction to the team for weeks before forcing them to release him.

    * These people cried so much for so long, they had to make an hour long TV show about it.

The NY Post claiming there was a “scheme” to acquire Brown and that the Patriots “deserve hell for it” may be the loudest and most delusional take on the AB saga, but I did enjoy Greggg Doyel pretending that the Colts (and, by extension, he himself) are too morally pure to ever do anything so questionable.

I dont know where I read it but the article said there are very few coaches/GM’s who could have taken this risk without worry of being fired and Belichick is one of them because of his track record. So naturally it has to be some evil shenanigans.

John Harbro just did a fake punt up 35-3 at Miami in the second quarter

Pretty much the worst case scenario for the Jets for week 1. Defense actually showed up but Darnold can only muster 1 scoring drive all game.
