Jonah slaying it on the final season of Veep.

holy shit  I was a freaking puddle at the end of this episode.  He’s the best.  The “eating so much pussy I’m shitting clits, son” “This is an elementary school! Shut your spewing mouth, you animal!” might be the hardest I’ve laughed at anything in my life

I want to start talking like Euron at all meetings going forward. “We have fired men for lesser offenses…”. “Well, they were lesser men than me..”. “I had to fire him for looking at porn on the internet. Or maybe I was looking at porn on the internet.  Either way. Same result.”

Dany didn’t seem all too broken up or shocked to learn that one of her three kids was now playing for the other team.

I thought the same thing with Dany and the dragon.  There seemed to be very little if any shock.  At this point I’m mostly if not exclusively interested in the Night King and the ice dragon.

My money is on the Night King taking a quick flight down to the Iron Islands and kills Yara because no one is expecting that. She’s still the 2nd most bet to die first at +250 at betting outlets. Euron is the favorite at +210. Surprisingly Sansa is 3rd at +350.

How can they get to the Iron Islands?  No boats and they hate water.  They’d probably have to take Westeros and Euron’s ships first right?

Isn’t Gendry the rightful king as the son of Robert Baratheon?

    The dragon can fly there.

Bastards can’t be rightful. Thus the importance of the annulment of Jon’s dad’s first marriage and subsequent wedding making him the choice over Dany.

If Rhaegar/Lyanna hadn’t married before he was born, he’d be out.

I guess the dragon could burn them all but they couldn’t invade with just the dragon I wouldn’t think.  Although unless they have dragonglass/valaryian steel they couldn’t do much to defend themselves.

Are the dead getting into the crypt or are the bodies in the crypt rising up?

    The Jon/Dany stuff didn’t work I don’t think.

Whats the over/under on named characters dying next week?

90 minutes next week, pack a lunch.

Good point on the crypt, maybe he raises Caitlyn and she becomes Lady Stoneheart.

Is she buried there in the show?

I wonder if Brienne vouching for Jaime is their way of incorporating what Martin had in mind for that cutoff scene in the books when they got captured by Stoneheart.

Also Ghost just suddenly shows up as a background set piece and they make nothing of it? Was he with Edd the whole time?

Caitlyn is still in the river on the show I believe as they never fished her body out. In the books its different but the show never addressed that. Ned is buried there but has no head. The current talk is either there is a Night Queen buried there by Bran The Builder 1000 years ago or the Night King is after some other “spell”. Though raising the dead Starks to fight for you would be pretty bad ass.

Also seems like a bad plan that if the Night King is really just after Bran/3 Eyed Raven so that he can end time/memories then maybe don’t put the kid in the wheelchair out as bait in the middle of a battlefield with 100k dead guys taking aim at him. Why not fly him south to Bravos or someplace really warm?

Agree on Ghost. He’s been missing for about 2 seasons then suddenly is just hanging out in the background in one of the shots. Probably could have used him a few times along the way, no?

When Dany actually said it out loud it did make me laugh. “So…the only people who can vouch for what you’re telling me, that YOU have the true claim to the throne, are your brother and your best friend? And I’m supposed to believe that?” Maybe John should have waited until after the battle where they will probably lose the majority of their forces to spring that on her. Just in case she decides to say “f-this” and bail.

Sam telling Jorah “I hope we win” slayed me.  Sounded like Steve Grogan asking Ray Berry what he wanted to do on 4th and 1 in Miami.  I want to win.

I don’t think Ned is there either?  Who dragged his headless body back to Winterfell?  Maybe Lyanna can set Dany straight before she kills her.

It doesn’t seem like anyone has thought the crypt angle through.  You’d think Jon would be the first to say wait maybe hiding everyone down in an area with dead people that I’ve seen the Night King rise isn’t the best idea.  Then again they don’t really have anywhere else to go I guess.

Jon was telling Dany about the bloodline to more or less cut the cuddly stuff out.  He didn’t want the King of the North title either.  Might as well get Varys a broad while we’re at it, Greyworm has his piece and now the weird Sansa/Theon angle.

I liked the Wags storyline but I have a hard time thinking an ambulance chasing personal injury lawyer is a member of a Wall Street secret society club.

I think Littlefinger did ship Ned’s body back to Winterfell as a favor to Caitlyn though I could be totally not remembering that correctly.

Jon is the worst strategist off all time. He should just change his name to Grady Little. He got killed by his own guys because he trusted everyone even after all the shade eye he was getting. He should have gotten crushed at the Battle of the Bastards. He totally threw the entire strategy out the window by charging at Ramsey right away and deciding to fight one vs 1000 even after being warned that was exactly what Ramsey wanted. (Though I’d be a bit pissed at Sansa for withholding the info about the Vale coming to help…that might have saved a few thousand lives if they could have waited a couple of hours knowing help was on the way but whatever). His plan to go north of the wall was one of the dumbest plans in the history of television. Even if the dead could scale the wall (which no one knows for sure they could do) at least it would be without their horses, giants and a DRAGON (I think they even have giant spiders in the books). And now this plan is what? There are over 100,000 dead guys coming towards us. Lets have a few folks on the flank, some pits in the middle and lets hope these 2 dragons and a bunch of common folks who have never fought can hold us off. Though seeing the Dothraki vs the Army of the Dead I’d have to put that as a Pick ‘Em right now on an neutral field.

Did Dany not remember Jamie from the battlefield just a few episodes back when he tried to end the war with a spear and the dragon nearly ended Jamie? Just seemed odd she wouldn’t have mentioned that when listing the history of why she needed/wanted to kill him. Also I think she’s about to go full heel turn and hit Jon over the head with a folding chair.

Apparently the body was sent back.  Arya is certainly familiar with that face of death.

Old Nan mentions ice spiders as big as hounds when telling Bran stories.  Speaking of Bran I liked how he worked ‘the things we do for love’ into the conversation.

Dany really has sweet fuck all if she’s not the rightful heir, like zero to live for.  She could heel turn and sell out to the Night King if the deal is right.  Or at least get Jon out of the way.

Not sure the Night King is much of a deal maker but they’re definitely setting up a Dany v Jon post-zombie war to finish up the series imo.  Gonna be a lot of T&P required after this coming episode probably losing 8-10 characters we care about.

It’s not just him which makes it worse. They’re all signing off on these plans. The “need to prove it to cersei” angle is defensible in theory. But they didn’t execute on it. They certainly couldn’t have known the dead guy would throw a spear a half mile into the air to kill a dragon but they should’ve just used the dragons to get there in the first place. Pop in, grab a dead guy and fly out.

I’m assuming Martin told them that one of the dragons would need to be turned so they needed to get them there somehow. But could’ve been done much better.

The fact that they still haven’t figured out how to put Dany into some (non plot) armor is also a huge omission.

Arya running terrified from whatever is in the crypt will be pretty interesting. She’s not really scared of anything at this point.

Regardless, it was nice to see Maurice Levy back on the screen…also crooked cop Mel from Scarface still getting work at age 82.

Thats why I’m really hoping its one of her dead parents that have been re-animated coming for her because I’m pretty sure that would scare the piss out of me.

“Why don’t they just ask Bran” is the  “Why don’t they just summon the eagles?” equivalent in this fantasy universe.

I ask that about 7 times per episode. “Sure could cut down on a lot of the guesswork here if they just ask the kid in the wheelchair who brags about knowing everything that’s ever happened.”

I did like Tyrion’s line about how after he gets turned into a zombie he’s going to go down to Kings Landing and tear Cersei apart. That would actually be entertaining.
