Something on twitter where they had her name written on the cup “Danerys Stormborn Khaleesi Mother of Dragons Breaker of Chains etc.” was pretty good.

Billions was garbage. The fight stuff was flat out stupid and exceeds the RDA of Rich Eisen. I’m lost on who owes who favors with Chuck and Jackie Aprile, Sr. but seems like they’d be done doing favors. And you’re telling me Axe wouldn’t have thought about the need for water if he was all in on fracking?

Neither one of those guys could box a round, let alone 4.

Apparently Chuck Sr. is still creating swimmers even though he needs the little purple pill.

I don’t actually watch Game of Thrones but I like to follow along the discussions of the latest episodes. There’s a plot point I don’t understand from the last episode, though.

Dany’s group is going on to attack Cersei’s kingdom, presumably to overthrow Cersei at least, right? Dany gets ambushed, their fleet destroyed, a dragon killed, etc. Cersei them makes a big show of executing Dany’s friend/advisor. But couldn’t Cersei have killed the lot of them? Their ships seemed to have been wrecked and they were at a disadvantage. Or did I miss something?

That’s been the overwhelming plot hole point that everyone has been sort of railing on this week. Wouldn’t Cersei, especially knowing she’s probably about to be roasted to death, just gone on the offensive and maybe gotten lucky and have one arrow hit Dany and end the war? Worst case she finally kills her little brother who she hates. It just made no sense after building up Cersei as a psycho who killed thousands of innocent people when she blew up the church.

I guess it harkens back to old custom regarding offers of peace and negotiation and whatnot. The scene from The Patriot comes to mind as well when they let him in and then he steals the dogs on the way out.

Dany wasn’t there with everyone in her forces, just a diplomatic mission.

Tyrion was sweating it out until the archers lowered their bows though so he must have had his doubts.   I still love the show but it’s been pointed out that basically since Dany gathered her armies, navy and dragons and sailed to Westeros the show has used bad decisions by key characters and “yada yada” moments to even out the playing field while also pushing her towards crazytown until she just wants to burn everyone.  If she came to Westeros with her full force she would have cleaned house.  Somehow doesn’t see an entire enemy fleet twice despite having air cover and loses two of her own fleets, two dragons shot out of the air, Dothraki wiped out in a questionable move, etc…

Then Jorah and Missandei killed, Tyrion making stupid decisions, Jon springs the “hi auntie” routine on her.  Her support and her strength are being sapped in every direction.

So the show is really about the New England Patriots (Dany and her overpowering army) versus The NFL (Cersei/everyone else) and the show writers are Goodell trying to level the playing field by continuing to remove Dany’s players/draft picks. Though I do believe Bill would be a much better field general and leader of armies than Dany or anyone else on that show and would have expected Euron being there and would have run some play action with one of the dragons and had the other come in from behind.

OK, it makes more sense that Dany wasn’t on a war mission.

But, who’s left to hold Cersei to account over violations of customs and mores?

I chuckled at the “I can’t believe Dany blew a 3 dragon lead” tweet the other day.

Couldn’t they have put Davos to better work with regard to assaulting Kings Landing in general?  Guy sort of knows his shit.

    #139094

There’s all sorts of questionable decisions. Like all of a sudden, the Highgarden loot is the great military evener. Why didn’t the Tyrells just buy the Golden Company years ago and wipe Cersei out?

In the books the Targaryeon heir is being held/protected by that Covington guy, right?  And he’s got greyscale?

With Bran he doesn’t do the 3 eyed raven stuff for power or to help anyone gain power.  Tyrion mentioned guess you’re Lord of Winterfell and he said he has no interest.  He doesn’t care about the Iron Throne or who sits on it.  So I can see that he wouldn’t 3 eye raven and scout out Cersei for the purposes of conquering/overthrowing.  He’s got no interest in it.

    #139134

He used his power to help indict Littlefinger. So I think the threshold would be at least helping his family.

I think that’s right in terms of the Army of the Dead and Littlefinger, there are lives at stake and with Littlefinger he was trying to pit Sansa against Arya.  I can’t see him using his 3 eyed raven stuff to overthrow Cersei.  As far as he’s concerned it doesn’t matter who sits on the throne and who leads who.  Heck they might be able to just stay in Winterfell live happily ever after and Cersei can sit in Kings Landing.

So Bronn shows up and says I’m going to kill you they say we’ll give you Ravenswood or whatever and he just walks away and says you better pay up when the time comes?  Where did he go when he left?  He sure as hell wasn’t going back to Westeros.  And much like why didn’t Cersei just wipe out Dany why didn’t Jaime and Tyrion just have someone ax Bronn.

They offered him Highgarden which is the castle he wanted after he and Jaime overthrew the Tyrells (right before getting roasted by Dany and the dragon the first time). That’s why the irony was a tad funny. Its one of the most powerful castles down near Kings Landing.

To your point Tyrion and Jaime would have had Bron killed in 2 seconds after he walked out. Tyrion could have had any of the Unsullied or whats left of the Dothraki do it just for sport (we saw Bron not do too well last go around with the Dothraki). Its back to the same lack of logic where Cersei didn’t kill Tyrion from the wall last episode (or last season as well).

She’s got to be the one to kill Dany right?

I’m assuming in the end it will have to be Jon unless they whack him.  In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if they both die and somehow the Arya plotline is she’s carrying Gendry’s kid who is now in line.

I don’t get the point of having Jaime and Brienne shack up a couple of times other than just to do it.  The Greyjoy broad is the smart one, just hang on the Iron Islands.

Jon and Tyrion really are a couple of idiots.  What the fucking hell was Tyrion thinking selling out Varys, then they both watch him get barbecued and it doesn’t cross your mind to say hey maybe Varys was on to something?  Oh gee she nuked Kings Landing, who could have seen that coming!

No Sansa or Bran.  Or Bronn, another guy who I don’t see the point in his appearances unless he pulls something in the finale.

The Tyrion-Jaime scene was really well done.

I still feel like there’s some heel turn with Axe’s girlfriend.  The Dollar Bill stuff was gross.
