Why use all of the ‘78 references when 2011 was arguably a bigger collapse and is a hell of a lot more recent?

    Because the dinosaurs can’t scream, “You didn’t witness/can’t remember it so you’ll never know!”about 2011. #shakingfistatcloud

Can’t wait for them all to retire or better, die off.

First world problems, but I forgot how fucking terrible the Pats home schedule is.

“Hey, want to go to the Pats game with me? Well you can choose between getting home at midnight and getting up for work the next day, or we can freeze our balls off in late December.”

    I can’t believe Trenni killed Mayo’s dog.

Saw that reference over the weekend. I’m sure it’s possible Trenni kicked xxx xxxxx’s dog. What’s more likely, however, is that the dog is so poorly trained that it jumps up to greet everyone and some people (even a dog lover such as myself) will throw a knee or leg out to stop the dog from jumping on me.

Its a subtle way of telling the owner that they suck.

Sure you can get Curt Schilling to believe that Democrats routinely trade babies all over the world for raping purposes, but he can’t believe someone would ever shoo a dog away with their foot.

Odd pricing this year for the Pats too. Sunday afternoon vs .Miami is considered a premium game while Sunday night vs. the Chiefs is not. Two full months with out a 1pm home game is some funky stuff.

Schottelkotte sounds made up. That’s a Witness Protection name if I’ve ever heard one.

Exactly.  I’m going with “let’s combine Shottenheimer and Kottite”

This Mayo dog story is nutso.

Quite a week for Cranston, with this and the Cranston cop discharging his gun at the funeral for the Mass. cop.     :weei:

I make the Larry David Palestinian chicken face when people bring up the notion of concerts/shows on a work night.

ESPN brings in Schefter to breathlessly report things like “Aaron Donald still hasn’t reported” and “Sam Darnold may win the starting job with the Jets.”  Wow, what an insider.  Holding 2 phones while he says it really makes the viewer think.

I like when he gets a text message/call while on the air, the hosts act like they have a front row seat to the painting of the sistine chapel or something.  Most people that aren’t anti-social choads and keep their phones on all the time get dozens of texts per day

Bert picking up on his old boss’s standard thought on contracts

Math is easy here. If the Giants give Beckham a, say, 4-year, $70 million extension, that’s a $17.5M new-money APY, making him the NFL’s highest paid WR. Add his $8.49M for ’18, and it’s $78.49M over 5 — an APY of ~$15.7M

Easy peasy dummies.  Just throw some numbers around and there you go.  And no mention that the last 2 guys that got extensions like that – Dez Bryant and Demarius Thomas – one of them got cut and the other is one the team would love to get out from under.

My daily commute but don’t drive a red car.  Still a 30% chance it was a board member.

It looks to me like the bicyclist struck the car.

Absolutely, she rode right into the side of the car. I guess the red car should have stopped to check on her but outside of that they did nothing wrong.

Except for exiting from the middle lane without a signal. If it was a car in the right, they would have plowed into the red car too.

I think the bike created the impression she was exiting there by hugging that edge and sort of leaning toward the exit.  The car should have signaled ahead, but I understand why the car didn’t think the bike was continuing around the circle.    Still should have stopped, etc etc. but this isn’t some atrocity where the bike was completely in the right and the evil car showed up and ran it down.

Car was in the wrong lane and did not use directional.  Cyclist should have used the left turn hand signal.

    Offsetting penalties, replay the rotary.

Let’s go to NY with Al Riveron:

    Image result for al riveron

“Upon further review, it is clear that the car lowered its head and attempted contact with the bicyclist above the shoulders.  The bicyclist was performing an illegal shift.  The result of the play was correctly called by the referee on site who said that it was a ten yard penalty and loss of down against the person taking the video for using filming equipment outside of a pre-designated spot.   This is another example where the referee on the field got the call completely right, even though it was called in the complete opposite last week at Bell Circle.  As you know, we supported the Bell Circle call as correct as well, as it was correct at the time.”

Jerry Remy re-re-diagnosed with cancer. Steve Lyons to fill in.

Nothing will be saved. All will be lost. And our new onion-headed sad emoticon is unable to convey the depth of that loss. -10/22/25 (sic) Daily Thread

When I lived in CT we used to live near a reservoir run by the water company and town it had all kinds of paved trails and stuff. This one bike person ran into the bright yellow gate that meant the park was closed. She hit the gate at full speed in daylight.

She took the water company and town to court and won a settlement. Basically almost shut the place down for good. Rumor around town the court said we are awarding you the settlement, but you are an idiot.

Steve Lyons will get into some kind of trouble within the next four games.

Some guys drop trou in public and get sent away to the hospital for the criminally insane.

Other guys do the same and end up with a career in sports media.
