    1. Why can’t we get players like this?

That’s BSMW “Good Guy of the Year” nominee Jalen Ramsey.

I nominate Vito Stellino, dyed-in-the-wood Steeler rump swab (and all-time Pats hater) who writes for the Jax daily, to be the first mediot “over the top” in Ramsey’s war.

Hue Jackson sure seems like a nice guy but man, I can’t see how he could possibly succeed as a HC.

    It’s Christmas in August Suzy.

@Peter_King  Good morning. My Monday column is up.

Removing a note about a Todd Haley quote from Hard Knocks Tuesday. The quote never happened. That’s my error. My apologies. https://twitter.com/peter_king/status/1028902615143276544

According to her bio, Spear’s husband is either an active or former US Marine.  Has that newsandweatherbunny stalker MacDonald posted anything lately? If not ……… his body may never be found.

Even better, it was a joke from a PFT post that he took seriously.

What should have happened: The commissioner should have gone to NFL Players Association executive director De Smith last September and said, We’ve got a problem that’s growing with the on-field demonstrations during the anthem. We need your help. This has the potential to hurt our bottom line significantly—which impacts you too. If advertisers walk away, and some fans stay away, that’s less money to split, which means a lower salary cap eventually. Can we find some compromise like the NBA did, and find a way for all players to stand at attention for the anthem?

I’m sure that argument would get the player’s association to jump.

And he has vipers like Todd Haley and Greg Williams in coordinator jobs below him.   Either one of those two would be only too happy to take over as coach on a moment’s notice.   I am sure they are doing their best to make Hue look good.   :-(

Jesus, Joe Maddon is going to make me feel sorry for Arod?   Arod?

(Genius Joe apparently “had words” with Arod during a pregame meeting because of Arod hinting about bad team chemistry and essentially calling Yu Darvish a pussy.  So far, Iran/Iraq who cares.  Of course, Genius Joe then went straight to his media briefing afterward and told them all about it and how tough he was and how he always backs his players, etc etc.   ARod ended up under siege and down playing it.)

I’d be fine if they both went off a cliff in the same car, but it’s Genius Joe’s usually self love that puts it over the top for me.

I really want to root for the Cubs but man does Maddon ruin it for me. Great ending to the game last night however. I’m pulling for a Sox/Cubs world series with the Sox blowing them out 4 straight and Maddon taking none of the blame.

Haley looks drunk.  Williams is such a laughable hardo.  I passed on 9 jobs to be here!  9!  Has a Rob ‘I can get another job in 5 minutes’ vibe to it

 Nobody has more ‘common sense’ solutions than King. It’s amazing how he can solve complex problems with simple solutions.

Also loved Albert throwing in that he’s covered big domestic violence cases before. Very fluid.

“s” plural? How big can the Jags’ “press core” be?

I am amused to read PFT from time to time and see articles in there written by Peter King.   I love the idea that SuperWriter Pete King has gone from his plucky start up to having his drivel tossed in the middle of an NBC aligned aggregator site.   It has to eat King alive to basically be fodder for Florio.

So how about a 60 second Black Lives Matter PSA before each game?

…I see you’re not interested in being serious.

Even when PK suggests Goodell should have handled something differently, it’s the NFLPA who needs to step up and take action, not our benevolent Commissioner-For-Life. King says Goodell should have taken action “last September.” Kaepernick began his protest at the beginning of the 2016 season. A savvy leader would have seen that this may become a larger issue and worked on finding a solution 2 years ago. King references the NBA and Abdul-Rauf not standing for the anthem. According to wikipedia, it took 2 days for the league and player to reach a compromise. We’re entering a 3rd NFL season with the same issue unresolved. Mentioning how David Stern handled the same situation makes Goodell look incompetent.

Even the theoretical carrot that Goodell was supposed to dangle before the players (revenues go down>salary cap goes down>player’s salaries go down) is going to hurt Goodell before it impacts the players. The commissioner’s stated goal is to grow the revenue of the league every year. He’s succeeded in doing that and we’ve heard that’s the reason the owner’s overlook his deficiencies in other areas. If that growth stops, the owner’s will be looking for a new commissioner before the players will be asked to take pay cuts. The NFLPA could look at that as an opportunity to get more concessions from the league instead of throwing away a bargaining chip now to maintain the status quo.
