ParticipantWell yes Turd I have.
The first time I may have been predisposed to hate it. Because the 2016 was so good and 2017 is quite Golden. It is a fantastic beer.
Next weekend I go to my favorite local octoberfest and they have a killer t shirt design .. problem is a bunch of Trump nazis stole the whole black/white Teutonic script design. So the majority of the pop will think youre a Nazi if you wear a T with an Imperial Eagle chugging a Mass Krug
Its a damn beautiful T shirt, I hate that fuckrr

ParticipantHaving had the Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest a few more times … If I was an older man given to poetry, I’d say the malt was honeyed and summer sweet, the last rays of summer sun gracing us with their goodbye kiss. Autumn announces it’s arrival in the balancing bitterness, not as bitter as winter as hops owe their life to the Spring sun. It is Autumn, the dying with promise of rebirth, if I ever held words that pretentious I could still never describe this beer. Luckily I lack those intentions and instead of that sort of nonsense all I know to say is drink this beer.

ParticipantAgreed on the 2016 version being outstanding. I didn’t love this version the first time. Guess I’ll have to give it another try

ParticipantHad the Tilted Barn Milo’s Phoenix the other day. So goddamned good. Turd you still in south county? I’ve yet to visit there but well worth the wait if you have some time on a saturday

ParticipantThat place makes really good stuff, but it’s turned into TreeHouse South. I won’t turn down a beer from those places if other people go, but I’ve got way better things to do than stand in line in a field all day.

ParticipantCrap is it that bad? I’ve had a few from there other people have got. I’m with you on that. I can wait until Proclamation opens in Warwick

ParticipantIs Proclamation moving or expanding? Their joint now can get full quick, but I’ve always been lucky when I go there. It could be I’ve been unlucky both times I’ve gone to Tilted Barn.

ParticipantThey are moving to Jefferson Blvd. near the airport, something like 10x the space. Not sure when, I’ve heard “late summer”, “fall”, and “by the end of the year maybe?”

ParticipantJohn Harvards Framingham Brando is practically Tree House Alter Ego if you can’t get out to TH.
Last week I got a sampler, then full pour, then 32 oz growler and it was near spot on. So I went back, got a 64 oz this week, it gets a bit hot in the 4th pint, its not an exact replicant. If you’re drinking less than 4 pints, in a triple blind I couldn’t distinguish this from TH Alter Ego … And this was the first 64 I tried to down myself in maybe 3 years, yknow for science, so for all practical purposes it’s TH quality.
Go buy some as I’m sure the brewer will soon move to some 18th century garconniere in East Bumfvcvk MA where once a week you can buy 1 can after standing in line for 7 hours
The other beers are just as good for their style, I mean Christ after enjoying all the ones worth trying last week I branched out today and took home a 32 of their Belgian Wit and actually thought 12 ounces were good enough to drink before using the rest in a marinade. Do I wish I got the WC IPA or the Coffee Porter, or the excellent Pils, or the Saison even in that baby growler? Well yeah if course, but I could drink 12 oz of Belgian Wit from there an accomplishment in itself.
The brewer who came up with Brando is headed to Stellwagen Beer Co. in Marshfield. That’s a link.
Come back, Regular Brian.
My agenda is truth.

ParticipantTalk about how tastes change; A few years ago upon hearing the board rave about Celebration Ale I decided to give it a go as I enjoyed the Pale Ale and the Oktoberfest. I hated it. Couldn’t muscle it down.
Fast forward to now. LOVE IT. Better late than never.

Turd you still in RI? Celebration is the beer of the month at High Spirits liquors on North Main next to Whole Foods, $12.50 a 12 pack.
Also have you been here yet? http://www.buttonwoodsbrewery.com/

ParticipantHad some of Dan koppen’s beer this weekend, Patience and Prudence and strIPAh. Both were good, latter much better, a worthy entry into the (crowded) field of fruity, hazy New England IPAs
