In 2009, the Narragansett Brewing ad campaign “Drink Your Part” promised Rhode Islanders that if they bought the beer, the company would brew it here.
    Again.
They are making good on that pledge, having leased a new home in Pawtucket for brewing operations at the Kellaway Center, now known as The Guild.

Out at Europa Black Rock Bar & Grille up the road from me in Ludlow, drinking off the balance of a $50 gift card I won at a trivia night October last. The Iron Duke ‘Baby Maker’ American Porter, (5.4% abv) a fine exemplar of the style. The Abandoned Building Brewery ‘Lola’s Saison’, (5% abv) pleasantly wheaty and refreshing. And the Founder’s ‘Backwoods Bastard’ Bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale? ( 11.6% abv [snifter]) Strongly approve! Tasted like a more caramelized Orkney Ale ‘Skull Splitter’. And that’s something in its own right.

Drinking the Sierra Nevada otra vez. Grapefruit cactus shit going on. I’m enjoying it but I suspect I’d like it much more outside in the summer

So got to Treehouse a half hour before the listed opening on the Google maps, and found it had been open actually a half hour earlier. Had to park in a way distant lot. (told the cashier guy “I parked in Simcoe.” [blank stare] {‘It’s an allusion to parking in the ‘Goofy’ lot at Disney’-Lil Jerry} A hundred people in line in front of me. Only chose to get a can and a 750 ml bottle each of Doppelganger and of Bright. You know, in case I don’t like them. ;-) May just look at them for a while before drinking them. People were leaving with twelve, twenty-four cans along with their maximum of 3 bottles. Crazy.  Originally had a 750 ml of Julius on my manifest, but chose to cross it off so someone else could get one before it kicked. Me, an American hero for doing that? I hate to admit it, but yes.

Yours is no disgrace, Yahtzee, the fellow in Monson installing the french drain (MPGripes Thread) offered me Miller Genuine Drafts, which I gratefully accepted & quaffed.

Confession:  I broke my year-long BBC boycott to try the Nitro IPA.  It sucked.  The boycott will resume.

tried the Von Trapp lager last night.  Good, not spectacular.  Going up there next weekend i’ll see if the brewery itself has something more adventurous.

Is getting Heady Topper as difficult as I’m reading?  Found an article from two years ago with hours-long waits, etc.  Per the alchemist web site there are like 1/2 dozen places within a couple of miles delivering while im in VT, but I’m not going to be able to sell my wife and spending all of our (brief) vacation in a liquor store

When are you going? That whole system is going to change again as they’re opening their 2nd brewery at some point this Spring/Summer.

I know there are schemes setup where people have figured out what times stores get deliveries, what route to follow, what stores to hit first etc.. I could probably find them.

The Trapp Brewery isn’t all that exciting. If you go to the Trapp bakery for lunch, they’ll have all the beers on tap there. It’s a little pricy but their stuff is usually high quality.

Piecasso has average pizza but they’re claiming to have Heady on draft currently. Might be able to bring the young one there and get one.

Matterhorn is still my favorite place in town for beers, chipotle wings, pizza…even sushi.

Drank the Treehouse Bright. Wow. It’s like drinking the freshest IPA you’ve ever had, out of a cored-out pineapple.
