The Federalist Radio Hour Podcast had Christopher Kimball as a guest.

I also picked this up at Whole Paycheck. We use their 30 minute recipes all the time and with an old stack of Cook’s Country Magazine, we have a good rotating menu of easy to prepare meals.

The Medieval Manor in the South End is closing at the end of the year.

I live blocks away and have never seen evidence of a single person ever going there as a customer. Does anyone have any first or second hand experience?  I’m genuinely curious, but not curious enough to actually spend money there.

Maybe 15 years ago. I only remember it being dank. And I was blind drunk, like almost Mark drunk.

We hit it in college. In the late 70’s. I think they’ve moved since then, but definitely dark and dank. And blind drunk.

And not to combine two threads or anything, but a person I used to work with just recently went and gushed about it on Facebook.

Same. Bachelor party. Terrible food. “Bawdy” entertainment. If you weren’t hammered, you had no business being there.

    No great loss.

In Woburn for 3 or 4 nights next week.  I remember Tremont with the pork chops and vinegar peppers.  Any other dining suggestions?  I’d love a good sushi place.

    Strega Prime? http://stregaprime.com/

There might be a place or two in Winchester (one town over). I’ve eaten with my dad at China Sky and they have a sushi bar that seems popular. I’ve only had the Chinese food there.

My friend swears by the sushi bar in one of the supermarkets. Forget which one but have a feeling that’s not what you’re looking for.

In googling seafood joints I see there is an Eris Wings and Seafood in Woburn, more of a fish fry type place which is fine as I never get fish fry, and Turners came up but appears to be in Melrose.  Any experience/thoughts on those places?

    Thanks

For seafood you might as well go to Legals in Burlington.  If you want to drive to Somerville, Vinnies is a great place not to mention unique for Italian food. http://www.vinnysatnight.com

Any Thai food fans? I got a pad see ew that tasted like I was licking a spent charcoal briquette. It’s an hour later and the beer and vodka can’t get the taste out of my mouth.

Chico, (or anyone), how’s the Eye-Tie food at Cassarino’s?

Looking to whack a police captain and heroin dealer there Saturday night for my birthday.

I haven’t been to Cassarino’s in a bit but I always liked it back when I lived over there (as opposed to where I live now, 2.5 miles away  ) I’ve been meaning to get back.  I actually may be at Siena on the hill saturday night (that place I can unequivocally recommend)

    Cassarino’s – A

    Siena – A++++

    That is all.

Edit: not quite all. I’m headed to the Hill tonight to check out the new Mexican restaurant that’s where the Blue Grotto used to be. It’s gotten excellent reviews, so I’m hopeful.

I thought it (Cassarino’s) was quite good. This may sound strange, but they have the best asparagus I have ever had at a restaurant.

Food complaint.  My softball field has, for years, had this old italian lady (sister of the guy who runs the league- you should see the placard behind home plate of all the guys instrumental in the league, looks like Sopranos credits) who would make all this fantastic home cooked food and sell it there- eggplant, peppers and eggs, meatballs, etc. $5 a sandwich and that was your dinner.  Had my first game sunday and I walk over- she’s not there.  I go find Lou like I’m on fire- “WTF?” and he said Cranston is finally getting around to saying they need a vendor’s license, and she didn’t want to be bothered.  I was crushed– those sandwiches are at least 1/2 the reason I still play softball.  The new vendor is the same guy who sells at the Cranston Ice RInk, Cranston Stadium, etc..Sysco chicken tenders and the like :ozzy:

The answer I was looking for is Awesome.

Try the meat lovers, coal fired meatballs, sausage, bacon.  Also the Michaelangelo, with muzzadell, rigott, and meatballs.
