Liked Middleton a lot as a player and he had a great career here. But if you don’t retire his number right after he’s gone, or if/when he’s elected to the HHOF, and wait 30 years, why bother? Meh, any team that retired Lionel Hitchman’s sweater (whose?) has a fairly low barrier to entry.

    Could never understand this either.

Just under a point a game guy regular and postseason.

It’s agood thing the “big fans” aren’t going no yto the games since the arenas would be empty.

I’m rooting forBB to tell the team to say nothing anymore. Getting ready for 2018 and that’s it.

Brady should have told EEI to go F themselves. The fact they let the twerp back on shows they care about hot takes.

Over a full season Kinsler would be worth about 5-6 wins more than Nunez at the moment. Even over the remaining games he’s worth about 3 wins more. Who needs 3 more wins when all 3 top AL teams are going to win about 110 games each? Just crazy wasting by the Sox. Right now the Sox are dead last in 2b WAR in all of MLB at -2.1. Of course they are also dead last in 3b as well 2nd to last in Catcher WAR. Its amazing that this team is 42 games over .500 right now. Having the best starting and relief pitching in forever helps quite a bit. What does Mazz hate about the deal? The 2 nobody 25 year old AAA relief pitchers that they sent away?

The second the two guys got traded they became Hall of Famers…never mind no one can remember the last time they were mentioned in a list of Sox prospects.

That Rays-Pirates trade for Chris Archer seems weird. The Pirates are 3.5 back in the wild card, Archer hasn’t been that great for a while now, and they gave up 2 of their top prospects. They have control of him for 3 more years I guess but doesn’t seem like a guy you go get. I dunno.

Even when he’s on, he’s horrible to watch pitch- takes forever even by today’s standards.

The first response to zo’s JBJ tweet (Gilbert denizard) is, unless there’s someone else with that odd name, a guy I worked with first job out of college. Pronounced his name jeel-BARE. One day he tried to pull some hazing shit on me about how my belt and shoes didn’t match. “Maybe next time chief”. Saw him in the hall later and said “hey GIL-BERT open your mouth around me again and we’re throwing hands” he never did

How could he not be?   One of the more stupid miscalculations ever.   Hope it is true and Brady was/is pissed about it.  He should be.

But, at least Kraft ended the rhetoric and no one ever talked about it again.

I’m entertained by all these NBA guys showing up at “open runs.” How hard do these guys go at these things? If fucking Von Wafer showed up where I play on Tuesdays and Sundays he’d have 800 million points.

Exactly. We occasionally get a kid who is a current D2 or D3 player (skidmore) and he toys with us

Or “Moviepass for HotTakez” if you think “Sports” is too dignified.

That useless load of incompetence Bedard was exposed on The Twitter as the utter cunt he is this morning (not that we needed proof).  His terse response to a subscriber (and cancer patient) who’d tried unsuccessfully to contact the site after being unable to log in was fucking disgraceful.

    He must be destroyed.

I read his piece and he’s all wet about this tackling thing.

The new head rule is stupid but Chatham can’t articulate it. He even included a video of Hightower hitting a blocking sled and decides that it proves that the head has to go first.

Is there a reason Hightower couldn’t hit the sled with his hands first, Matt?

It’s been going on for decades now you just have breathless ESPN coverage of it because they own the rights and have 2 morning shows and Sportscenter to fill.  And the Ringer, Bill and the gang love that sort of thing.  Kelenna Azubuike from Kentucky/GSW used to play at 24 Hour Fitness here locally in the aughts.  And he got treated like the Highlander guy the first time he rose from the dead.

They just signed their QB on the first day of camp and he got an ovation like when they staged Revis’s arrival in Hard Knocks.  I can’t imagine being a 5 year veteran or whatnot and giving a standing ovation to a rookie the first day of camp because the management was trying to screw him on offset language, then gave him a fully guaranteed contract.  How embarrassing.  I heard Jamal Adams talking about how he doesn’t accept losing because he’s a champion.  Um, when did you win anything in high school, college or the pros?  Killer leadership over there.

Is the story that Bradford was letting Reimer write for WEEI.com without a byline while he was suspended?

Mehta is fucked in the head. It’s probably the result of starting when Rex started and he cannot let go of the hope he had after two straight trips to the AFC conference final.

    Invest in Moviepass/phone now

Brady’s unique character has made another project related to the book interesting: casting an actor to play the quarterback in a planned big screen adaptation.

“We’re in active negotiations with one or two actors that we think can really capture the athlete and the human being,” said Sherman, who, along with Wedge, will be executive producers for the movie.

    Great, a fucking movie.

For weeks, there has been a rumor in NBA circles about a fight that took place at an ESPYs afterparty involving two well–known players.

Late Tuesday, multiple media reports identified the two players as Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson.

Hoping the ESPYs turn into the BET awards and motherfuckers get shot.
