So long Tampa.    The Bruins could win the cup if they play like they’re capable of

Coach Craig right again with Tampa. Definitely gripped their sticks too tight.

Im sure he’ll use either the ‘I was right at the time’ or ‘everybody thought Tampa was a wagon.’ Never realizing random things happen and it’s best to always be ready. You’d like that someone who competed at a D-1 level would understanding the nature of competition. Odd and sad.

My brother in law and I were talking about this Saturday before Game 2;     What teams other than the Bruins do you actually like or at least not mind?     I said if we get eliminated I’d probably root for Winnipeg assuming they’re still alive.

I don’t hate Columbus.   Appreciate Tortorella’s disdain for the media.

Imagine what Bill would do to the other 31 if he didn’t have a salary cap?

I’m not sure if that would widen the gap more than what already exists. There would be more less competitive teams,  where the owners would spend the minimum on coaches, players, and the front office. The other good, well run teams would still be formidable, though, because they could hang onto their best players like the Patriots.

If Belichick coached for one of the protected franchises, like the Steelers or his dream job in New York, we would hate the guy, even if we respected what he was doing. Any missteps he might make would be minimized or buried, while every accomplishment would be lauded. No rules would be changed as the result of his team’s victories. Instead, the mechanics of the league would be geared to amplify and prolong his success.

Incredible how AJ Smith who was always known as an ass’s ass comes across as exactly that.

Nothing like waking up to voicemails concerning your kids schools being closed because some nutty from Miami is running around with dreams of Columbine.  Half a million kids home today.

I’m a little surprised weeks 2, 3, and 4 are all divisional games (@Miami, Jets, @Buffalo) and that the second Jets game is in week 7. I thought the league had tried to backload the schedule with divisional games to avoid meaningless games in December. Or maybe it’s just that it’s been a while since the Jets were the team the Patriots played twice before November.

I thought Bart was still trying to catch Shane Vereen down the left sideline … That Butt-Fumble Game from Thanksgiving 2012 was great on so many levels.

Scott’s final two years with the Jets were marred by struggles and controversy on and off the field. On January 1, 2012, the day after the Jets missed the playoffs after losing their last 3 games, Scott was fined $10,000 for showing an obscene gesture in front of a cameraman while in the locker room.[12] That September, Scott threatened to assault a photographer in the Jets’ locker room.[13] In November, Scott tried and failed to organize a media boycott; however, it lasted only a few moments.[14] Later that month, Scott verbally attacked fans after the Jets gave up 35 second quarter points in a 49-19 blowout loss to New England.[15][16] The Jets failed to make the playoffs in Scott’s final two seasons with the team putting up a combined record of 14–18. According to Pro Football Focus, Scott ranked last among inside linebackers in tackling efficiency in 2012.[17]

The Jets released Scott on February 19, 2013.[2]

    Ah, reruns.

Adam Gase’s first message to the Jets: He came here to dethrone the Patriots

Don’t these idiots ever learn? If I’m coaching the Bills, Jets or Dolphins, my goals are to make the playoffs, win the division and win the Super Bowl. I’m not talking about the Patriots outside of the two times we play in the regular season.

It’s even dumber for Gase to say this because he just spent 5 (?) years in Miami and couldn’t dethrone New England. This time he’ll do it, though. For sure.

Gase is a fucking idiot.  Like all of these guys they can’t focus on anything past right this minute.  He’s more worried about shit like running up the score on the Broncos because Drunken Elway didn’t give him the Broncos job, or maybe it was he blocked him from interviewing with the Niners.  Granted I got a lot of enjoyment out of it, but what did it do for the team and its success overall?  Nothing, but hey, great job.

Yet when the Pats eventually slip up, whoever stumbles to the front will get to be the next McVay to the media for a couple years.
