A movie version of “A Walk In the Woods” with 80-year old Bobby Redford? Yuck!

I just saw it. It’s a good movie. Not great, but good. Won’t make it’s money back though. There were 20 people max in the theater, and I was the only one without an AARP card.

I was wrong, it only had an 8 mill budget so it made it’s money back 1st weekend.

In other news “Stephen Katz” is now an amputee.

    Tarantino’s latest: <span class=”embed-youtube” style=”text-align: center; display: block;”>[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnRbXn4-Yis?version=3&rel=1&fs=1&autohide=2&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&wmode=transparent%5D</span>

Nice touch at the end of the trailer with the shout out to the 1970s. “In Superb 70mm film!”

That looks like a fun movie.

Early reviews of The Martian are great. Can’t wait.

Not just a shout out, Tarantino shot in 70mm. I am hopeful. I know I am in the minority, but I didn’t like Django.

Finally got around to watching the Battle of Five Armies.

Always fun to see a Billy Connolly cameo.

Black Mass was meh. Depp was great but I didn’t like Edgerton as Connolly.

I thought it was pretty good. I liked Edgerton in the role.

    Wait, what?

Kinda bummed out about the mediocre reviews on Black Mass. Guess I’ll have to drag the wife to The Martian instead.

75% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. I don’t think I’d call the reviews mediocre.

I can see it. No positive review I have read was ecstatic. Every one was “It’s okay, but…” Metacritic gives it a 68.

It sucked. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. If I was from Chicago I’d have thought it sucked. Public Enemies, basically which was ok but nothing great.

2/3 of Django was excellent. Then it turned into Sam Jackson and Jamie Fox finding new ways of using the N word. Became tedious.

I read the Martian. I am hopeful.

The Martian was fantastic. I liked it as much as Interstellar despite Daniels playing Will Mcavoy and a double dose of magic negroing that was totally patronizing.

Yeah, loved it too. Very enjoyable and good job of snipping parts of the book to keep it moving.

I appreciate the dings. So you’re pro-racist tropes? Good for you. Don’t hate because you don’t understand, dummies.

Saw The Martian this weekend too. Liked it a lot. Enjoyed how you can tell they made an effort to make the science at least plausible .

The guy who wrote the novel is a computer programmer. In addition to his own research, when he published it on his website he had readers correct the science.

    Loved it.

Thought that Chiwetel guy was good, but Donald Glover was as annoying as all the reviews said he was.

Saw Sicario this weekend and really loved it. Plausibility of the main plot twist is questionable but it was a really gritty, entertaining movie.
