Blade Runner has been my favorite movie for a long time, 2049 goes right up there with it.  Pretty much those two movies combine to make my favorite now.  Just incredible looking, sounding, well acted, and the story was fantastic.

Thor: Ragnarok was a fun movie.  Great cameo at the beginning of the picture.

I saw Get Out and thought it was great. Social commentary aspect may be a bit overplayed surrounding it, but it was the dark humor I enjoyed. Very well done.

Way late to seeing this, like wait for HBO to show it late, but it was really good.

Any word on Death of Stalin?

Trailer makes it look hilarious, but you never know.

Really glad they changed the original ending of Get Out. The original ending was a regular cop pulling up and arresting the black guy as a statement on America circa now while the evil white chick walks away. But after test audiences hated it they made it a “feel good” ending which made the movie definitely work better.

What the fuck is that mess Justice League supposed to be?  Looks like the Battle for Helms Deep with Batman instead of Aragon.

Justice League was good. I mean, there’s a lame CGI villain and a stupid McGuffin, but other than that, it’s kinda fun.

    Seeing it later this afternoon.

And? Is it actually decent, or did I just have super low expectations?

Saw Pixar’s new one Coco. Cool looking. More emotional than funny. With all of the Day of the Dead skeletons, it’d be too scary for my easily scared six year old. A good time, though. It’s preceded by a 20 minute Frozen short that I didn’t mind but many have found insipid.

Flipping around and ended up watching Split with Jimmy McAvoy.  Didn’t know it was a M Knight Shamalamadingdong vehicle but remained strapped in, got a laugh out of Betty Buckley getting prominent work.  Movie was decent enough, but that ending was a mindblower.

Right? Its really weird that she plays the shrink. Like you’re not going to get Overrated Meryl Streep I guess, but surely there’s someone else better than the mom from Eight is Enough.

I remembered Buckley took the place of the original wife, who ended up dying after 4 episodes, so they just had the dad marry someone else.  Was confirming whether or not they just didn’t address the dead actress and found this gem:

Grant Goodeve (Mark Hamill in the series pilot) — David Bradford (22 years old at start of series)

Granted I was 7 at the time but zero recollection of anything with Mark Hamill except for Star Wars, Corvette Summer and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Hamill sought to get out of his contract on Eight Is Enough to take the opportunity to star in George Lucas’ Star Wars. His request was rejected by Lorimar Productions as he had signed a five-year contract with them. However, in December 1976 Hamill had been involved in a car crash that resulted in his needing reconstructive facial surgery. By the time ABC had greenlit the series, Hamill was still hospitalized and unavailable. They let him out of his contract and the role was re-cast with Grant Goodeve now playing David for the series.

And the actress who died was in a May-December romance with Travolta at the time she checked out. It emotionally ruined him for quite a while.

I watched split half-assed-ly, what was considered the big twist at the end? That he got away? Worked at the zoo?

No, someone at work said they were connected though? Was that the Bruce Willis thing?

Yeah, the ending of that movie ties directly into his character from Unreakable.  3rd movie called Glass is coming out to tie things up

Lazy Bruce Willis knows he’s unbreakable and he’s still working his shitty security job 15 years later?

Superman works as a useless journalist. Nobody knows better than us how shitty that is.

Sounds like they just wrapped production but it isn’t set for release until January 2019.

Jeez Split did really fucking well.  $278 million worldwide on a $9 million budget.
