Milius should have to to be paid by Spielberg one million dollars per year for the Indianapolis monologue; ain’t that right, Chief?

Mother’s?  Are you underestimating Upton’s age?   He hates movies because they went “talkie” and ended his career

Upton only seems like he’s 110 years old:

Correction: His mother wasn’t a vaudevillian, but an on-Broadway comedienne. We regret the error.

Before the first reviews are out, the early word is that Batman v. Superman is actually good. Haven’t followed closely, but it seemed like people thought it was going to suck balls.

Nerd Internet fight that may only interest me: DC fanboys accusing movie reviewers of having a Marvel bias and getting together to smear BvS before it even has a chance to shown to be good.

Yeah, Deadpool being a hit kinda blew that thinking out of the water.

We’re going to have these movies until the end of time. Which fortunately won’t be long once President Trump is elected.

Loved Winter Soldier so much that I have seen it a dozen times.  Age of Ultron was ok.  Guardians was good and fun.  Deadpool was fun.  Completely agreed with Kevin’s take on MoS.  That was out and out shit.

They won’t go away because they are entertaining for the most part, never mind the money they are making.

BvS looked like overwrought shit (and I still purchased 7 tickets for Thursday night).  Finding out that it may not suck puts a hop in my step.

The Fantastic Four movie was garbage and tanked at the box office (domestically at least) so the public still wants an entertaining product.  Even given that it was crap it netted $47M in profit world wide.

This is where you need to go watch the honest trailer.  Iron Man 3…the Iron Man movie without Iron Man in it! I think the honest trailer for MoS was pretty accurate and funny as well.

Three sentence review of Man of Steel:

-40 mins of Crowe on a butterfly.

-1hr of Costner not letting Superman do Superman things.

-1hr of Supes & Zod throwing each other through buildings, with neither giving a shit about casualties.

Batman vs Superman may be a typically Snyder-ian mess, but it can’t be as incompetently made as Green Lantern was.

I’m telling you, this Zack Snyder is a real hack! Sad!

Batman v Superman seems far too concerned about responding to criticism of past films, from the introduction of technology to explain Batman’s voice, to the incredible opening that I talked about earlier. The biggest battle of the whole movie takes place in secluded closed quarters, seemingly only to show there are no civilian casualties or massive damage this time.

Later in the film, newscasters on television proclaim, “Thankfully, workday is over in the downtown area” as a battle rages into a city. It’s seriously a laugh-out-loud moment (there was more laughter at this moment in my screening than at any joke in the rest of the movie). And it doesn’t even stop there. At a later point a battle moves to an island outside of the city and a newscaster informs the audience that the island is uninhabited — again, seemingly for no other reason but to preempt criticism.

Seems to be playing crazy instead of greedy/evil.  I always liked the Telly Savalas rip-off in the cartoons that was Lex.

    Yeah.

Eisenberg is next-level terrible as Luthor. He’s a twitchy lunatic pretty much from the start, and if there are any events in the story that lead to him escalating his plot to the point of creating an unstoppable monster I missed them. Eisenberg delivers every line like he thinks the villains on the 1966 Batman show were too nuanced. His face is a collection of tics, and his eyes burn with the power of a thousand ham actors. Not only is his performance unmodulated, he’s generally irritating at all times – while I don’t understand why Lex Luthor wants to unleash an unstoppable monster on the world, I do fully understand why Batman wants to fucking hit him.

The darkest moment of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a montage of Bruce Wayne, played by an emotive rectangle of muscle and tendons known as Ben Affleck, prepping for his Superman fight by doing CrossFit.
    Rating
The sequence takes place in the Batcave to ostensibly camouflage the sound of Wayne’s weighted pullups and the percussion of steel weights dropped over and over. Wayne pushes a resistance sled — the kind you see in football movies like The Blind Side — and then swings a sledgehammer at a few tires. I don’t completely understand how performing these exercises was supposed to help him defeat a bulletproof deity who can melt faces. But then again, I’m not really familiar with the latest in CrossFit trends.

    And Jamie Chung.

Snyder ruined a movie about crazy/hot chicks fighting giant ninja monsters.

He’s a hack. (Still bought 7 tickets for BvS)
