You’re two blocks away at Casertas.  I’ve been to general admission things there but not sold out, so not sure how that would work.

What year did your wife graduate?

Her one PC claim to fame was that she was the manager of the dining hall senior year and had to kick out Hal Gill for being drunk and belligerent.

You know somebody is a true screwup when you get slightly pissed whenever somebody with just the same last name is mentioned. Bundy, Manson, Hitler, Gill.

    Come back, Regular Brian.

Sound at that place wasn’t the best, and the band was kinda low energy.

But Caserta’s pepperoni was fucking top notch!

Bad!  did you get one of the surly high school girls to wait on you at Casertas?  It’s a bizarro Wooderson- I get older, they constantly have a gaggle of 17 year olds who have embraced their inner bitter 45 year old

No, but the 24 year old manager type was rolling her eyes at the low energy drink guy who was trying to pay with only the latest four digits of his girlfriend’s debit card.

Aren’t they going to make gobs of money doing a reunion tour?  Why give that up to sing for another band with a 65 or so lead guitarist?

I think I like it but don’t love it yet. I can appreciate that he wants to do something other than GA songs but there’s a still a lot of mid-tempo sameness to me.

Prediction: Axl replaces Brian Johnson in AC/DC

    Wait, what?

On his radio show, Atlanta-based DJ Jason Bailey said a “very, very good source” told him “Axl was meeting with [AC/DC].” It’s “all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the 10 remaining shows” on their tour, after doctors advised Brian Johnson to stop performing live, or risk “total hearing loss.”

 Truth be told I had someone supposedly on the “inside” tell me that a few weeks ago but after my Coldplay scoop flopped I labeled it a prediction rather than actually something I was told.

Not really when was the last time they did? Last album was not horrible but not even close to their early stuff. I downloaded that Live in Tokyo album. Band sounds okay still except DLR who sounds like a circus clown. He barely even tries to sing anymore and spends half the song making aside jokes in the middle of songs to the audience. He’s a fool nowadays and I loved him with VH thru 1984 album.

    Set list from Friday

Guns N’ Roses Troubadour Set List

    1. “It’s So Easy”
    2. “Mr. Brownstone”
    3. “Chinese Democracy”
    4. “Welcome to the Jungle”
    5. “Double Talkin’ Jive”
    6. “Live and Let Die” (Wings cover)
    7. “Rocket Queen”
    8. “You Could Be Mine”
    9. “Speak Softly Love” (Andy Williams cover)
    10. “Sweet Child O’ Mine”
    11. “New Rose” (The Damned cover)
    12. “Better”
    13. “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”
    14. “My Michelle”
    15. “Nightrain”
    16. “The Seeker” (The Who cover)
    17. “Paradise City”

Watched a quick video, funny seeing Slash and Duff in good shape and Axl looking like he needs to mix in some salads.  Sounded good enough from what I could hear as the crowd was ape shit.  Percussion was strange, the drummer sounded shitty and they had some guy on the friggin’ bongos for Welcome to the Jungle.

Axl looks like he lost a competitive eating contest to Vince Neil. I think it was on Paradise City that he lost his breath. Still, Foxboro is in the middle of the schedule so they should hopefully be in a groove. Or the tour will have been cancelled.

The zookeepers this morning said that they don’t get paid until the tour is over, that if something happens that cancels the tour they get nothing. Not sure if it’s true.

I thought about buying a package to get in on a pre sale but decided against it. I’m home this Friday so I’ll see what’s available then for the general public.

I think the personality issues might be the biggest issue but who knows. The shows GNR has been doing with the B team the last several years backing were good I thought.

Tough to live up to this though:

    Buyer or sellers market?

Got the presale email from the Patriots tomorrow at ten.

Kinda curious to check out what I could get, but wondering if I could sell them if I decide not to go.

I think it’s a sellers’ market. It’s going to be an extremely expensive ticket to buy on resale.

Like $90 for mid level 300’s on presale.

Best available halfway up on 100’s was over $300.

I’ve stated my hatred of cover bands but someone gave me Brit Floyd tix as a gift knowing I was a Floyd fan so I went tonight and as cover bands go they were great.  Play the songs essentially exact. I mean I don’t even think Waters or Gilmour solo try to get them down as exact. Good light show too considering it’s a cover band smaller venue. They’re a spin off of Australian Pink Floyd.

But the real interesting part was the venue. Lynn Auditorium. Anyone been there before? Nuts. Of course I would say 50% of the crowd was Floyd fanatics but the other 50% were local degenerates. Made for an experience to be sure. And the venue is essentially in City Hall so I’m like walking to my seats with a beer at the start of the show and I stroll past the tax collectors office. Bizarre.

    But a good time.

I looked into staying at the hotel at Patriots Place that Tuesday night. Looked online and it said it was sold out. I called to see if there was a waiting list I could be put on in case of cancellations. They said that they had one room available that night…..for $739.

Board favorite Bruce opens Brooklyn show with Purple Rain last night. Think it sounds pretty good:

I was supposed to be at this show. Long story short, I had told my ex-girlfriend for a long time I wanted to take her to a show and convert her. She couldn’t go due to having just started a new job and it being during the week when he was in Boston so I went with a friend. But we decided to do last night’s show on a Saturday and drive down, which also happened to be my birthday. When she split awhile back I sold the tickets. Actually just found a taker the other day. Fucking bitch would have liked to have seen this live.

Better than the cover Springsteen crapped out. Something different and they didn’t try to match the guitar solo, instead using the horns in its place.
