I’ve got like 30 Ticketmaster vouchers from that class action lawsuit that I’m sure will be completely useless.

A co-worker reminded me of this. I’ll have to check my account later.

    Wait, what?

Saw Turner/Isbell/Stapleton on Sat. night.   Apparently I live in my own dreamworld, because I was expecting Isbell to finish the night.  But everyone was there to see Stapleton.

Isbell had a decent set — the expected 5 or 6 tunes from Something, 3 or so from Southeastern (including a torrid rendition of Cover Me Up) and a couple others, including Decoration Day.   Would have loved to have gotten Dress Blues, Elephant, Darko or Outfit.  But I could sit there and listen to him play for 4 hours.  And he looks great.  I think he’s lost like 50 pounds since he got off the sauce/and or got married.

Turner was a pleasant surprise and Stapleton was as expected.  God, Maryland has lot of rednecks.

Checked last night. Looks like I have about 20 vouchers for $2.50 off my next Ticketmaster purchases.

Think this is a podcast review of the show you guys went to. These two broads seem to have the same review of Stapleton fans.

Friend of mine just got tickets for Isbell at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in October.

I didn’t even know he was coming around again.

Or that the Lowell Memorial Auditorium still exists. I hope he beats Ricky Steamboat for the Intercontinental belt.

They came through Boulder over 4th of July weekend and my buddy saw them last weekend in Alpine Valley.  People I spoke with were all pleased.

Yeah, I read a couple of good things about those shows.

Levitate last weekend, Dead this weekend…then I am done for a while.  I had been thinking about seeing Lucero on City Hall Plaza in September, but it’s part of some beer festival and that might be playing with fire at the moment.

Didn’t we cross the Dead off the list last summer?

When Weir dies, will that be it? Garcia has been in the ground since Clinton’s first administration.  That teat is dragging a hundred yards behind at this point

They’ve been doing so many iterations for 20 years and they keep packing them in.  Mayer has played with Phil Lesh and his band as well so if Weir died he could just join Phil if he wanted.

Probably.  I don’t understand what the beef is now between Phil and Bob, but there does seem to be one.  I think Phil wanted to put a bow on the whole thing last summer, and just have his band play their monthly shows at his club in Marin, 1 or 2 runs of shows at the Capitol Theater in NY and that’s it.  Phil’s 75 fucking years old with bladder cancer and a replacement kidney….I don’t think he wants to do 75-100 shows a year.

Bob’s the kid of the group, marches to his own drummer.  I don’t understand why Kreutzman would do the tours.  Try to get me out of my secluded Hawaiian house to go play Milwaukee in July.

In other news, the Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings cover of Midnight Rider is fantastic.

Nabbed tickets to see Dinosaur Jr with Cloud Nothings.

Ive seen both before at another venue.  I like the sound at this venue better so I’m hoping for a great show.

Fucking amazing show last night at Fenway.  Never a John Mayer guy, but man is he a fit in that band.  2nd set was like a Duberstein’s Greatest Hits: Terrapin, Morning Dew, Black Muddy River, Casey Jones and US Blues (in no particular order with drums/space in there).

Already bought the download, and went ahead and preordered the one for tonight.

I was hoping to, but I was out of town last week. Checking on setlist.fm and they played 50 (!!!) songs. Probably in about 90 minutes.

I didn’t go to Saturday, but when I bought the Friday download I got Saturday for like an extra $10.  Nice listen so far.

My cousin went to the show in DC. Said it was OK. He knows their catalog well but said they played a lot of stuff he didn’t know.

    that’s impressive, since they’ve released 1000 albums

I’ve heard it can be hit or miss.  I saw them in maybe ’99 or so and Pollard was so drunk it was terrible

I saw them a handful of times in the 90’s and it was always fun. I was curious about their discography after you brought them up yesterday and this line from their Wikipedia page is just perfect.

“…After reforming, the band released six new albums…”

Meanwhile, continuing the throwback theme, I’m heading to see Jane’s addiction with opening acts Dinosaur Jr. and Living Color tonight. Can’t wait, but I’m prepared to be reminded of how very old I am.

Great GnR show last night. Minor quibble is Axl’s voice seemed to crack at times towards the end. In fairness they played almost 3 hours. They stopped selling alcohol not long after they started, and there were a few people not too happy with that.

And the set list is already up on the inta-web.
