Dave Anthony and the other one doing terrible Boston accents and calling Boston racist for 4 hours? Sounds like a blast.August 11, 2018 at 7:14 pm #128133DoncabesaParticipant
Going to both Dollop shows 11/17. This should be fun.
What stories do you hope they do/don’t do? They already did Boston’s busing crisis, right? Whitey Bulger? Some pilgrim atrocity?
Yeah they’ve done bussing, some old pilgrim stuff, thanksgiving, policeman’s strike so who knows. They’re doing two nights I think.August 13, 2018 at 10:45 am #128171
Two shows same night.
Interestingly, Patton Oswalt is playing at 7 somewhere in Boston the same night, so a guest appearance on the later show is possible.September 12, 2018 at 3:30 pm #129432
Latest Episode of I Was There Too is about Jaws while Matt and the Mrs visit Martha’s Vineyard.
At the end of the show it sounded like the run of this show is over.September 12, 2018 at 4:04 pm #129437
Been listening to a slow burn, and Ann Coulter namedropping the Dead has reached Steve Pagliuca “Former Duke walk on point guard” status.October 7, 2018 at 12:35 pm #130508
Long shot, but I have 2 tickets to both Nov 17 Dollop shows (7 and 9:45 different topics). All seats are in section (tables on the floor). First show 1st row, second show 7th row. My friend can’t go, and I already have concerts Friday and Sunday nights. I’m going to StubHub them but if someone from here wanted them I would sell them at cost (220 bucks for the lot). Let me know.October 11, 2018 at 7:31 am #130800
The same group that did a series on the Wonderland Murders have anew podcast called Legal Wars.
The first series is Hulk Hogan v Gawker: https://wondery.com/shows/legal-wars/
Three quick episodes.October 17, 2018 at 3:20 pm #131149
Wondery is kind of a hack podcast network. Even though I have or am listening to many of their podcasts (Dr Death, the Hernandez thing, the Manson one). Lots of reinactments and dramatic music and edits.November 13, 2018 at 1:10 pm #132879
Finally listening to Serial season 3. For someone that bills herself as a crime reporter Koenig has almost no conception of how the legal system works, either in theory or practice.November 14, 2018 at 11:35 am #132913

Yeah, I’m starting to delete certain shows as they pop up.November 14, 2018 at 11:05 pm #132952LebronParticipant
I don’t usually like comedians or podcasts but I thoroughly enjoy Pete and Sebastian. I might even go see Sebastian when he comes to town in March.January 9, 2019 at 12:04 pm #134715

It’s on Hulu, so was unsure if I would post this on the after TV thread. I’ll post in both because I feel so strongly, but Letterkenny on Hulu is absolutely fucking hilarious. Sort of like a Canadian hick version of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
True story, my hick neighbor at our place in Vermont turned me on to it, and he and the whole neighborhood could be characters on this show.
The show is just incredible. Definitely check it out.March 9, 2019 at 10:19 am #137233
Steve Sweeney was just on the Joe Rogan podcast. Im not one for a stroll down memory lane but it was a good listen with old boston comedy talk and a back/forth on Marvin Hagler.June 27, 2019 at 9:06 am #140486

He was on Maron within the last 10 days. Excellent podcast, super honest guy…although a bit ADD.June 27, 2019 at 9:24 am #140487LebronParticipant
The only podcast I listen to is Pete and Sebastian, these Joe Rogan/Maron 2 hour marathons are insufferable. I can take 45-1 hour.

Stumbled upon a podcast called Boston Venue, The Channel Podcast.
Its an 10 episode and I am halfway though. Probably could have condensed to 4 or 5 episodes but it’s interesting if you were around back then. There’s some scrapes with the Boston mob. I wonder if they’re pushing a tv show on one of the internet services.

Dirty Rats is the true story of two of Boston’s most powerful brothers – one a gangster, the other a politician – as they rose from poverty in a public-housing project to the pinnacles of power in their respective trades. Howie Carr, author of two New York Times bestsellers about Boston organized crime and their victims, unravels the brothers’ sordid web of corruption and homicide that still haunts Boston to this day.September 3, 2019 at 3:08 pm #142243Blinded By The LombardisParticipant
