The rap sheet at the beginning of the trailer was hack! “Resisting arrest” is a thing in this galaxy?
Yeah. If you don’t have a government, how can you arrest people for things?
Running at the AT-AT, though? Good money shot.
BB8: the Imperial Senate wasn’t disbanded until the start of Ep. IV Kev, they still had a governmentApril 11, 2016 at 4:13 pm #46411
Force Ghost Yoda!
The Real Deal: Rumor site Making Star Wars notes that Yoda voice actor Frank Oz is apparently in the United Kingdom right now for work-related reasons, and is visiting Pinewood Studios. You know, where they’re shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII. The report has few details beyond the fact that Oz is there, so it’s possible something else is going on. Nonetheless, if Frank Oz is involved with Episode VIII, which we know involves Luke Skywalker who has seen Yoda as a ghost previously, don’t be too surprised if the little green dude shows up in 2017.April 13, 2016 at 3:04 pm #46657
More on Vader in Rogue One…
It was reported last year that the Sith Lord would feature in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and that Hayden Christensen would be reprising the role for the movie. We teased last month that the rumour was correct, but Christensen would not be playing the part. That’s because our sources are telling us that in fact British actor Spencer Wilding has been cast to play the body of Darth Vader in Rogue One.
Wilding is mostly a stunt actor and has had bit parts in Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman Begins,Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and Wrath of the Titans. We first heard of his casting last year, but waited for more confirmation on the story before running it.
Our source also confirms that Wilding has been running lines while on set, so Darth Vader will have a speaking role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However he will likely be dubbed by James Earl Jones just as David Prowse was when he played Vader in the Original Trilogy. We sadly don’t have confirmation that Jones will be coming back to reprise his role, but it seems rather likely (Making Star Wars were very sure though, and they’re a good source to trust).April 13, 2016 at 3:24 pm #46666
Didn’t realize that guy in the white cape was Ben Mendelsohn.
That guy’s an amazing actor.
Glad to see Bloodlines is keeping him around.April 13, 2016 at 7:32 pm #46716
The guy playing Vader in Rogue One is the tall blue guy from Guardians who took Quill’s Walkman at the Kiln prison.May 4, 2016 at 2:56 pm #49676
Why the hell would they scrap this?
Mark Hamill also spoke about how someone actually leaked the first 15 minutes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens correctly online.
“One day I read the first 15 minutes of the film absolutely accurately” he said. “I can tell you now that in the original opening shot of 7, the first thing that came into frame was a hand with a lightsaber, a severed hand that enters the atmosphere, and then the hand and bone burns away and goes sticking into the surface of Jakku” he added. “and this alien hand comes in, don’t know if it was Maz but it was an alien hand who takes the light saber way, and then the movie proceeds as you see it.May 4, 2016 at 3:09 pm #49679
I think they got spooked that it was right. That’s a bummer.May 4, 2016 at 10:23 pm #49716
Abrams spooks easily. Judging from Lost, Daisy Ridley better not ever be pulled over for DUI.

Those Mr. Plinkett reviews are a little bit unfair and over-the-top for comedy purposes, but that shit about how George shoots in incredibly boring camera angles in his dialogue scenes was right on the money. I was wondering what was bothering me about that, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. They’re all the same – sitting on a couch. Walking slowly, then stopping. Looking out a window and then turning around. Holy shit, it’s dull.June 3, 2016 at 1:17 pm #53670

Not really sure what “doesn’t match the tone” of the other films means when it wasn’t really supposed to.June 3, 2016 at 1:30 pm #53675
I don’t know what to believe. There were JJ rumors and then supposedly Mcquarrie was on set, then he denied it and now they are supposed to be reshooting 40% of it. Who knows.June 3, 2016 at 1:47 pm #53681

I assume it’s pretty dark, and nearly everyone dies. Probably scared the Disney execs and they want to lighten it up a bit. I’m sure it’ll be fine.June 3, 2016 at 5:18 pm #53706

There’s no way they’re reshooting 40%. The movie is out in 6 months and there isn’t enough time for effects work. Have there been more stories about reshoots since the first, thinly-sourced one?June 3, 2016 at 6:31 pm #53710
There’s been a ton of stories on it. Sourced (though unnamed) and unsourced. The 40% is arbitrary and not measurable but it seems they are reshooting a lot of the smaller character driven moments (which makes sense from a vfx standpoint) and Tony Gilroy is now allegedly involved. If they pull this one out it will be an impressive accomplishment. Like tabloid divorce tumors once you hear these things they usually end up coming true.June 3, 2016 at 6:57 pm #53711

I’m not disagreeing with you, but the stories I’ve seen from reputable sources aren’t panicking. I think Gilroy’s involvement could be a really good thing – I loved Michael Clayton.
This story, which references EW’s reporting, is pretty calm about the whole thing.June 17, 2016 at 6:28 pm #55550

So weird. It wasn’t like they were playing it like how he got overly familiar calling Han “Solo.” Maybe that was the intent but it doesn’t play that way at all.June 22, 2016 at 10:13 am #55936
Finally, confirmation of what fans have hoped ever since the project was announced: Vader is back. We have a run-down of the Sith lord’s first day on set, and what his return means for the larger Star Wars storytelling universe.July 15, 2016 at 9:05 am #59135July 15, 2016 at 9:19 am #59138

The boy has been playing it nonstop since last Christmas. The expansion packs have been really impressive. The Death Star one should be epic. They better have a Fighter Squadron trench run game mode.
