Yay, Fargo’s almost back. For you guys who work in the city:

To celebrate its return to FX, FARGO is giving fans a taste of Minnesota nice by sending the FARGO Waffle Wagon to Chicago, Boston and New York City ahead of the October 12 premiere of its second installment. Designed and styled after the 1970s setting of the new installment, the FARGO Waffle Wagon will be offering free Waffles on a Stick to consumers and fans in the three locations, culminating in New York City on the weekend before the premiere.

The FARGO Waffle Wagon began its journey in Los Angeles on September 20 on Emmy weekend and is next set to appear in:

Boston – Boston City Hall (Inside Plaza) Wednesday, October 7th Hours: 9:30am – 6:30pm

Forget the 2001: A Space Odyssey beginning the super random Larry from Perfect Strangers bit was the biggest WTF part of the Leftovers return.

Also the guy who played the fortune teller/palm reader whose house they burned down was from another ABC sitcom, Family Matters.

    Anyone else still watching Homeland?

I thought it was nice of the Hezbollah terrorists to drop Carrie off right on her doorstep rather than make her walk home.

Do they use GPS or do they take the bag off her head so she can tell them where to turn?

What do you think Hezbollah’s Uber passenger rating is?

I’d be more interested if the show was more about Quinn. Carrie and her on the meds/off the meds bit is tiresome, let alone her being some head of security and her back and forths with Saul.

Watched the American Experience on Walt Disney. It was a bit longer than it needed to be but definitely enjoyed it. Didn’t realize he was so involved with commie/anti labor movement.

Seconded. I thought he would be more of a weirdo and didn’t know the stuff with that strike and how it changed him from thinking it was all one big happy family where he got all the credit. The park opening with Art Linkletter hosting was surreal.

And that second episode of the Leftovers? Fantastic.

The Affair is slipping. If the conceit is no longer that this is an interrogation what’s the point of differing points of view. Ok we all give in to self-delusion but not to that degree. It’s not even an unreliable narrator it’s just the freedom of the writers to tell whatever fucking story they feel like without the constraints of the world they’ve constructed. I like the show but it’s such a cheat.

Loved how the guy got emotional and went on about the sleepwalking and the suicide and the burial and the broad sums up her issues with “I hire prostitutes to shoot me”

Agreed on The Affair I like it and will continue to watch but some of it down to different clothing seems pointless and doing it just to do it.

While I’m sure I’ll watch Vinyl enough on the previews with how rebellious rock and roll is.

This second season is god damn terrible. I like it quite a bit, but jesus fuck the writing. Yowza. It’s lazy for all the reasons I described upthread.

I haven’t read the book, but it sounds like an interesting premise and I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Amazon will stream the pilot and second episode of its new original series The Man In The High Castle for free beginning October 23.

The pilot and episode 2 will be available for no-charge at http://www.amazon.com/maninthehighcastle beginning at 12 AM PST on Friday, October 23rd and ending at 11:59 PM PST on Sunday, October 25th in the U.S. and UK. Following the Preview Weekend, the show’s second episode will available exclusively to all Amazon Prime Members, prior to the season launch of all episodes on November 20th. No Hawaii Five-O, but you throw in Castle or Brooklyn 99? And 24 was a cop show, wasn’t it all some made up intelligence organization? Heck Dukes of Hazzard was more of a cop show it at least had cops in it. Or any detective show that has cop buddies from the old days or whatever. Adam-12. SWAT. The Rookies. CHiPs. The 70s was chock full of that shit.

I can’t believe Boomtown got cancelled it was like the 16th greatest cop show ever!

about to, in anticipation of the show. Currently reading the first of the wayward Pines trilogy. Book is excellent, though I’m glad I didn’t before watching the show. My brother did, and didn’t enjoy the show like I did, because a lot was cut (by necessity)

Like I needed another reason to watch Jessica Jones:

The sex scene that will have everyone’s eyebrows on the ceiling once it hits Netflix in November. The episode introduces us to Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, a beefy superhuman (though he’s not yet revealed as such) who will soon star in his own Netflix series. In a sequence lifted more or less directly from the comics series Jessica Jones is based on, a depressed Jessica finds Luke at the bar he runs and confidently hits on him. He’s coy at first, accusing her of flirting with him, but Jessica says she doesn’t flirt: she just gets what she wants. “What do you want?” Luke asks.

Smash cut to Luke on top of Jessica in his bed, going at it with a sexual fury unlike anything Marvel (or DC, for that matter) has even come close to putting on screen. She eggs him on, and when he warns her that she might not be able to take it, she insists she can. At that point, he flips her over and starts taking her from behind while the camera focuses on her impassioned face. It’s a scene where Jessica is in total control of her sexuality. Whatever her reason may be for banging Luke, she’s doing it on her terms. It’s the way real-life grown-ups have sex, not the way neutered TV superheroes do. The audience at Comic Con seemed to simultaneously clutch its pearls and lean forward in titillated fascination.

For a show in its 11th season Supernatural just had one of the best episodes of its run. Pretty impressive how consistent it’s been, especially for a CW show.

Anyone else watching Heroes reborn? It’s surprisingly not horrible. Some of the special effects are sub-Ziggy, but by limiting it to a 13 episode run their hands are forced into a more concise story.
