Anyone else watching Heroes reborn? It’s surprisingly not horrible. Some of the special effects are sub-Ziggy, but by limiting it to a 13 episode run their hands are forced into a more concise story.

Didn’t hate the first episode, but also haven’t bothered to watch any of the rest. The first episode of the reboot was certainly better than anything after season one.

This was probably on page 1 of the old board, but I’ll say it anyway. Last night I saw “The Jimmy” and “The Fusilli Jerry” on TBS last night. Tim Whatley and the Assman have offices in the same building.

I was up extra early today and watched the latest Leftovers.  I then got to drive an hour and think about the depths of Nora Durst’s mental issues.

It barely begins at “I pay prostitutes to shoot me”.  As crazy as Kevin is (not OUR Kevin allegedly) she hasn’t even plumbed the depths of her crazy.

Love the new Aziz Ansari show on Netflix.

A staple of season one of “Fargo” was the not-so-subtle nods toward Coen brothers movies, some nearly word-for-word with their source material. I love the second season, but I haven’t noticed the homages this time around, save for Patrick Wilson’s warning to the Blomquists mirroring NCFOM. Maybe I’ve just forgotten my Coen brothers’ movies.

Think it was in the hair salon where Ted Danson said “all for a little bit of money”.

And of course sticking a dead body in a grinding machine.

Hot damn, The Leftovers was absolutely amazing again.  So many ideas of where it can go, so good.

Man Leftovers and Fargo are frigging relentless.  The exact opposite of that shitty walking dead, boring garbage.

The Man in the High Castle is getting good reviews. 97% percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, but from the 4 reviews I have read or heard that number is a bit misleading as 3 of them were “it’s good” and the fourth loved it.

It’s really good. It has the usual issues that a pilot that doesn’t get a straight to series order has in that there is way too much exposition through dialogue. “Well you should hate the Japanese because they beat and killed your father.” But that’s a necessary evil. So far the execution is like a B+ but the premise is an A+. Surprised I have never read the book.

The skinny guy from Road Trip who was the undercover cop in Breaking Bad does a great job of kind of playing this all-knowing guy who is kind of a stand in for the audiences questions.

On the last episode of Jessica Jones, pretty freaking fantastic.  Starting up the Man in the High Castle asap later this week.  My brother (who has same tastes as me) has said it’s amazing.

Episode was full of Coen callbacks, a little overboard with them, actually. Lots of musical cues, like TBL one you mentioned, and “O, Death” from O Brother, Where Art Thou. And “mater familias”, a nod to Clooney’s “pater familias” in OBWAT. And Danson’s “I’ll cut off my toe” line. Milligan: “Sometimes, there’s a man…”, etc.

I need to start it, every year around this time I do the free Amazon Prime trial so I get it for holiday stuff so I have 30 days to watch it.

Friend of mine caught another Lebowski one that I never would have gotten.

Lou’s wife tells Karl that Lou can remarry anyone he wants after she’s gone except for “(Something) Knutsen. Bunny Lebowski’s real name was Fawn Knutsen.

If the Jessica Jones casting call says, “We need a grizzled old detective who’s the proverbial two years away from a full pension and is getting too old for this shit”, then Lester Freamon has to be on the top of the casting sheet, right?

Is this in relation to “The Man in the High Castle”?  I finished it yesterday.  I may have to watch the last episode over again because the ending was… Wizard of Oz inspired? Awful? Annoying? Ridiculous?

I haven’t been able to determine my thoughts surrounding this show.

Manning fanboy Tim Hasselbeck was trying to sell on WEEI that Peyton wasn’t benched, he’s injured, but even still, you can’t take Osweiler out right now.

That means he was benched, right?

Good use of Grandmaster Flash in that episode.  Love the LT cross earring in the psychic from whatever ’90s ABC sitcom.

Yeah the actress who plays Trish is a major POA.

Just finished the series yesterday. Liked it very much. Darker than a lot of the Marvel stuff.

Killgrave might be the best villain in the Marvel universe not named Loki.

I finished season 1 last night. Overall the show is as bleak and dark as anything I’ve seen on TV. But I kinda liked that. Just this overall feeling of brooding really comes thru consistently so you have to give them credit for that. I liked the show alot. At times its very slow and meandering, but that sort of adds to the darkness. The ending was wtf as you say. We’ll have to see where that goes. Glad I watched it. Now I have to decide if its worth keeping Amazon Prime or bailing before the 30 day trial expires.

I’m 6 episodes in and like you Pass just doing it through the 30 day trial.  I like it but I can’t see me keeping Prime for it.  Amazon does the Prime 30 day trial every year around Christmas and I usually sign up for it so I can send gifts easier, first time I have tried the streaming product. I think once my current cable agreement dries up in 18 months I will go exclusively streaming with products like this and HBO Now, especially if Brady retires.
