Franchise record tying win for the Red Sox last night. I’m sure Adam Jones has pointed out that the other 105 win team only lost 47 games. I wonder if people in 1912 were bitching about the pitching staff. Or were they still abuzz about the Titanic and trouble on the horizon with the Kaiser?

I’ve never taken a journalism class in my life but I but there is very little in the syllabus that talks about ‘not letting him win’ and being sure to impress others in your field.
Does this mean Volin spends time going over transcripts of other NFL press conferences to if the local media “won” against Carro…[Read more]
Poor Mittens, he’s a victim
“We’ve all beaten down to the point where we know he isn’t going to address a topic, but you can’t let him win, especially because they send out transcripts nationally, and reporters are going to look at it and be like, ‘What the hell are people in Boston doing? If we were to believe the conventional wisdom that Kraft forced Belichick to trade Garoppolo, wouldn’t we also believe there’s no way in hell the Pats are signing somebody who’d piss off Kraft’s boyfriend?
You need to see the big picture: Patriots sign Kaepernick>Lawsuit gets tossed out>Kraft puts a MAGA hat in…[Read more]

From the Fatty interview with Dale&Keefe yesterday:
This team has done a bad job, period, at the receiver position. They’ve tried to make due at the receiver position for far too long. They have not valued the receiver position nearly well enough. ‘When Brandin Cooks leaves, ah, we’ll find somebody else. We’ll…
Brother John and Ozzie Has A Plan blaming equipment guys and that they ‘misunderstood the rule’ applying during the preseason. What? Why wouldn’t it apply? What other rules are applied only in preseason such that you would even think that? Also, last I check misinterpreting a rule is still cause for stripping a pick and fining the c…

Rapist is defending Brown skipping practice because he cares too much.
There’s been so much drama in Pittsburgh the last few seasons, you’d think someone would write a book about it. Instead, we get 400 versions of “Bill, Tom, and Robert secretly hate each other.”

Ian O’Connor has the latest one.
Along with John Clayton, Ian O’Connor believed that footballs actually weigh 12.5 pounds.
Leaving the world of journalism no poorer, Bob Kravitz has been laid off by WTHR.
My prominent memory of Kravitz is of him and some other guy from the station doing a report outdoors on the fake deflated football story. Kravitz was talking while the other guy looked very serious and was shaking his head, as if Kravitz was talking about the…[Read more]
I saw a license plate this afternoon that read “AWTISM.” I don’t begrudge anyone for trying to raise awareness, but, when you found out that the vanity plate you wanted wasn’t available, it might have been time to step back and reconsider the entire decision.
Apparently Antonio Brown didn’t show up for team meetings on Monday and has been making noise about wanting to be traded.
That team is one more loss away from just completely imploding. We should all be rooting for Tampa Bay to kick the shit out of them next Monday. Even more than usual, I mean. It will be a g…

I can’t get over Hue Jackson saying he didn’t know his kicker was injured.
It’s more believable when you consider that Jackson did not intend for Gordon to be a starter in week 1, but he started the game anyway.
As an aside, people can look at the “Playing for an organization like the Patriots will set Gordon right and…[Read more]
It’s about quarter to 11, uh, let’s see…All I’ve got is that if the Red Sox win tonight, they’ll clinch the AL East for the third year in a row (2 of those under the guidance of incompetent Manager John.)

The blue collar guy in a white collar job line always cracks me up.
That gets me also. Did he ever have a “blue collar” job or is that his romantic idea of what a real worker is? I’m guessing no on the job because he’d probably be on permanent disability within 3 months if he ever had to wear a hard hat to work.

Cain is a certified loon.
What doesn’t make sense about his tantrum today is that I’ve seen him respond to, for example, anti-Felger & Mazz tweets and agree that their act is terrible. I thought that maybe Cain had turned a corner and had a better perspective on things. What he’s saying now is exactly what you would hear from…[Read more]

The 2018 Patriots season is over. The win over Houston was nice, but losing the Super Bowl to Jacksonville was a let down. At least the Celtics and Bruins are starting soon. There’s also, of course, postseason baseball, but we all know that will be a downer, too.

The Roughing call on board favorite Clay Matthews that negated the clinching INT was pretty farcical.
That’s 2 weeks in a row that a RTP by Matthews has wiped out a game clinching play.
Something I was pondering while awaiting the most important game in Jacksonville Jaguars history: I always enjoy reading about the latest awful opinion from the local media, but I’ve noticed a trend on other boards and in the twitter replies. Take Felger and Mazz going after Van Noy for no reason. The majority of the responses are along the lines…[Read more]
